just wondering, rules as written the following text...
On your turn, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 hit points with one, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action.
Does it have to be a two handed weapon? It doesn't state so. So I wonder could you for example use a long sword, crit, and gain the bonus attack?

Wanting to do more in-person games. If you live in Los Angeles let's DND!
Yes, that's the intention. They’re separate benefits, but you could combine them as well.
Heavy Weapon Mastery. When you hit a creature with a weapon that has the Heavy property as part of the Attack action on your turn, you can cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target. The extra damage equals your Proficiency Bonus.
Hew. Immediately after you score a Critical Hit with a Melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 Hit Points with one, you can make one attack with the same weapon as a Bonus Action.
Except that is the fantasy of the cleave weapon mastery, which specifies that the new target must be within in 5 feet of the first. RAW you could technically throw the weapon as the GWM bonus action attack. It just says it has to be the same weapon https://19216801****/https://routerlogin.uno/

A Dexterity-focused martial character can benefit from GWM: e.g. A longbow is compatible with Heavy Weapon Mastery and a rapier could trigger Hew.
I agree. A similar conversation here.
