After watching the first video, it seems to me they put a lot of effort into simplifying how to play monsters, and I really appreciate that, especially when dealing with enemies that have spellcasting abilities.
Also, good to include info about gear or stuff to loot after defeating enemies.
Additionally, some very cool content creators are posting sneak peeks at some new monsters and stat blocks, and we don't want you to miss them! I'll be adding them to this main post as they're spotted, so feel free to share them when you see them!
I'm unable to watch the videos, so apologies if this has been answered, but...
How will linking to monsters work within adventures? Are they all going to point to 2024 Statblocks? Dependent on when the the adventure was released? What you own? Or will there be a choice?
This information will be useful for me to prepare ahead of time (specifically, whether I need to download the new MM before my session the day it releases because I can't access the internet at the store), but also worth letting prospective customers know.

The preview videos have not historically talked about D&D Beyond functionality (that's not a thing that anyone who writes the books deals with). In general, though, how that functionality's gonna work on Day One hasn't been revealed.
Obviously I have no insider knowledge but my *assumption* is that it'll continue how it is. The imp for example coexists with the imp. And different tags determine version. So I would guess the current pointers will continue pointing to what they've pointed to.
New adventures will likely use 5.5 statblocks and point to those still. But I would think 5.0 adventures will continue pointing to 5.0 momsters.
FINALLY! The new generation of 5e is almost complete. Sadly they didn't say anything about gods, Arch devils or Demon Princes. I wonder if they intend to have a Deities and Demigods this time around?

As much as I would love to see this my guess is no. WotC seems to have decided published lore for the game is something people actively want to avoid (this thread seems to back that up, though it is of course a very tiny sample size). I find this baffling since lore I read gives me the inspiration to turn it into something that suits my game, but apparently the average person is more creative than me and can come up with the lore for entire fantasy worlds and the hundreds of different creature types that inhabit them without too much effort and at a level of quality that their players find impressive.
I would certainly hope the Forgotten Realms' books coming this year have deity lore for the setting, but expecting a lore book of deities and demigods feels very unlikely to me. WotC is already extremely light on products they release. I'd love to be wrong about this, especially when it comes to things you mention like the archdevils and demon princes who can serve as a campaign's major protagonists.
It depends on what you mean by lore. I used to be all for lore. But playing other games, and I realised that what I wanted wasn't a pseudo-history, but instead a guide on how to characterise the monsters, how to make them feel like agents in the story (and not just Mook #174 that charges and attacks), how to play them out and how to use them in a tactical sense. In short, I want to know how to bring them to life at my table rather than knowing the the Brood Wars of Schlacklack took place in the Years of the Termites 1274 through 2537.
Unfortunately, the setup of how D&D handles their books makes this difficult.

While I do love D&D lore, I would much rather just have more monsters in the core rulebook. This seems to be the direction they're going in, so I'm a fan. Now I just hope the new monsters are up to the challenge of threatening the new, more powerful PCs.
I had forgotten what an Empyrean was. I had to go look at the 2014 version, and it's just a Titan. They used to be called Titans in earlier editions. Although the guy from D4, does opine that the revised version looks more like a bigger more powerful version of an Aasimar.
While the 2014 Empyrean, looks every bit in ancient Greek/Roman form.
Is there any chance the Monster Manual will ever include all of the monsters from monster compendiums that have been produced over the years? Personally, I'm getting tired of having to "homebrew" monsters that were created 20-30 years ago.
Setting aside that, you realize you'd be increase the number of entries by at least an order of magnitude, right? There's no way they're gonna try and cram that much content into one book.

As in, in a single volume? No chance. Even just the 5e stuff wouldn't fit. They had to cut quite a bit of content just to get two books (VGtM & MToF) just to get that to fit into one book (MMotM), and there are quite a few other books (although only MM is as large, but even that wouldn't fit with MotM).
If you mean, will they bring those creatures into 5e? I think there's a reasonable chance that they will, or at least will do some. They seem to have had a drive for it lately, bringing old modules to 5e.

"Wizard hat off" question, so to speak: with there being so much lore out there already, both from previous editions and the surrounding media (books, video games, what have you), would new/updated lore change how you build your adventures or would it just present a possible different lens/point of view for said adventure building?
I ask because my personal default would just be to seek out what's already out there, but I'm also gonna make the assumption that if one is looking for new lore, then you're already aware of what's out there and it's not what you're looking for.

The internet exists and is filled with all the old lore and setting history. I could see wanting new official lore, but most of the people that I see post here don't want new, they want what they already have. They lose their minds when anything in the lore changes, so that begs the question, why do they want or need WotC to reprint the same lore when they already have it in an older book or can get it off the internet for free?

I doubt it. It's probably too "charged" of a topic to touch on right now.

I 100% agree. I write my adventures based on the lore of the monsters. It's literally the most important thing for me.
I wish I could upvote this more. You've hit the nail on the head.
