please tell me we will be able to upload our own? anyone agree or am I not seeing the real use for this?
It’s mostly a fairly stupid name for the ability to add extras like trees, furniture, and other obstacles to maps. Making the battle field more interesting and offering tactical options to hide behind or hinder movement for players strikes me as a very useful thing
My thinking is that most of those types of things are baked into a map that I have already created and not something that just pops up or appears out of the blue, but I guess that's one way to use it...
I do not use the Maps application - and I am only guessing that this is what you are talking about, the original post and title doesn't specify...
But I will mention that when I DM in-person games, I frequently hand out boulders and other items that I allow the players to place onto any outdoor map. They can place them anywhere they want, but the catch is that they have to place them before they know what the encounter is, where they'll be starting on the map, and from which direction the encounter will be coming from.
It is simply a way for them to have some contribution into what the map looks like. Sometimes it helps them, sometimes it hurts them, so it encourages them to spread them out. Just another way to give them input in the story that they are helping to craft. If a feature like that is added to VTTs, I would be ok with it - assuming that's even what we're talking about.

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
Agreed. I wanted to add a raft to a river, but of course there is no raft, and I can't upload one. I could add it to the map, but that would make it stationary, and thus useless for it's purpose.

I really like that Idea!
There definitely needs to be a way to upload additional stickers like we can with custom maps. The provided library of stickers is very limited.
