I run a game and hopefully soon will be playing in a new game created by a friend. I love this site the electronic character sheet, the homebrews, and the other content which is locked unfortunately. I like my physical books that I have and want more. Specifically Volo's Guide to Monsters. Unfortunately I don't wanna buy the book then come on here and re-buy it to get the content on here. Is there a way to register a books purchased or maybe I can get enough of a discussion here to get them to create a book registration.
Hell, personally I'd even pay a registration few of a few dollars. Probably $10 max. Give me your thoughts please weather you like physical books, or the electronics.
You're right I entered different key words after posting this and saw a few threads. But I'm looking at the back of my Player's Handbook and it has, what i assume is, a product identification number. How come someone can't program in the numbers, also assuming which can be gotten from the company publishing the books, to register the books. I mean I've seen other sites do similar things. So why not here? Greed? Knowledge to do so? I hate to say but I feel like the ladder is the reason. I'd rather pay for someones hard work than just google it all. Plus have the book physically in front of me and on my computer.
I don't believe the books have unique numbers. I believe the number you see on the back is exactly the same as the one I have. I could be wrong though.
Edit: Also be advised a mod is most likely going to lock this thread because these threads often become toxic.
At the end of the day, Curse is a company, they are providing a service, in exchange for money, partnered with WotC. They have to pay the people caring for the site and all the man hours that go into getting everything on the site. It's only automated so much, there is a lot of manual entry. I'm going to say it's not the latter, I'm willing to bet, they have the knowledge of how to add a unique code, if WotC wanted to. It has nothing to do with Curse, and they can't give the books away for free. You'd have to contact and express your thoughts with WotC. As for the code on the back of the book, while I do not own a physical book, I'm willing to bet it is the SKU/ISBN which are not unique per each copy of book.

He said it good, High five Jusblazm and hello to the new person I do hope you stay. If you own the books you can recreate things here as homebrew you just cannot share it with the beyond service.

There is no way to register a physical copy for use on DDB.
Here is word from a mod, if you'd prefer -> https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/22094-additional-book-purchasing?comment=2
