Is there a way (or are there plans) to view to content on D&D Beyond in German Language? I am hosting a game for a bunch of players and we play in German. Most of the players and myself prefer the English content, as we have no trouble understanding it and the "original" language is better (most of the time). However, we have one guy who barely understands English and has trouble understanding most of what his character is able to do (hes playing a Thiefling Bard).
I asked him to read up on his character, as i am sure there would be plenty of German sources to read up on D&D and its basic rules / characters. However, after doing a bit of online search myself, i found almost nothing in German. I know that the Player's Handbook and some other books have been published in German, so i guess the translation is done. But there is not digital content for me to find. Are there plans to implement a German D&D Beyond version?
Bringing other languages to the site is planned. However, aside from just WotC, the DDB team also has to communicate with the translators and publishers of the localized, translated books to get permission to use their content. It's been talked about a few times, but I have no idea how close they are to implementing said content.

We have the Deutsche Ausgabe of the players handbook and monster manual, which I picked up at a comic book shop in Berlin. Other than physically buying the books, it's almost impossible to find German D&D content.
Great to read about that. I hope Ulisses games is going to cooperate with this page so I can buy the stuff digitally, have it always by my side and can use it while creating characters.
I already had wet dreams about using digital character sheet on my tablet in offline rounds. <3
I had a game with German players too! I ended up translating most of the descriptions and the game just seemed flat. I hope they make new German d and d editions !

That would be great. We want to start a DnD-Group, two friends and me have no problem (and kinda prefer) english, but another one knows english, but wants to play in german and two others speak very little english :D
I hope we can convince them to start in english (with translations for them) and someday switch to german :)
it's been a WHILE now. Many Books are now available in German and other languages and owned and released by WotC. How much longer will it take to make the digital versions available, now that the printed stuff has been available for quite some time already? Also, how will this work? Can people who bought the physical books somehow unlock the digital versions with at least a discount?
Please give us an update. It's been much too long and I believe you could user some new subscriptions!?
No, unfortunately not all books are available in German. some are even traded at prices that are outrageous.
I would also like to simply use the D&D Beyond site in German and then i also buy digital content. but not if everything is only in English. how is that supposed to be with ONE D&D...
I imagine that with 1D&D, development for 5e stuff, beyond new adventures in English, has pretty much stopped.
The good news is that there is a fair chance that when 1D&D launches, multiple languages may be available.

The books are all available in print in German, so frankly, I do have trouble understanding difficulty with that aspect of it, at least.
The D&D Beyond layout process seems to be somewhat clunky. This is likely something that could be improved on now that they're under the same roof, but web layout is significantly different from physical book layout, and adding i18n to web pages is not just a matter of getting text translated.
This means that D&D Beyond will have the rights to all translations that Wizard of the Coast owns, including German, French, Italian and Spanish.
So there is hope :)

As someone new to d&d who's in a similar situation, how do you combine the English language of the rules with playing the game? For example, do you say "Ihr müsst einen perception check machen" and "Du musst einen wisdom saving throw würfeln" or something like that?
I cant wait, until DDB gets german content, you can bet, that i will subscribe... Me and my colleagues are able to understand english and we could run a campaign.

If u Open dnd beyond in Google chrome there‘s the possibility to translate the whole page. Its Not Perfect, but ist works for my players

Its now 2024, is there any new news about this topic?
An official statement regarding plans to translate DDB would be really, really appreciated.
Or maybe include a monthly allowance of potions of comprehend languages in my DDB subscription.
Anything new? I would like to Import a german version of curse of Strahd into Foundry :/
