It will likely only be 5e SRD content. So no additional books beyond the core three and those books will be blotchy. Stuff like only the grappler feat and several missing Sub-Classes. So I'm not that excited
Yeah, but it's not about building characters as it is about testing the features to build characters and then testing how useable the character sheet is at the table.

This is something that can't be said enough. The whole point of a beta is to test things out and help improve them before it goes live. Ideally people will mess around with the character creator and do their best to put it through its paces so that the system functions as smoothly as possible, regardless of what content is inserted into it.
I think you're understating the limiting effect of SRD only beta testing. We can give better feedback with more content. Things like Class features and Feats that modify display fields should be tested in full.

I agree. I know it would become a bit of a grey area since it's content that costs money currently and will cost money on this same platform later, but I think they should at least include the races/sub-races and classes (and associated spells) from PHB for testing purposes (and make it clear on the pages for those things that they are only free during the beta for testing purposes). I understand wanting to protect the content you're trying to sell, but literally the first result on google for "Player's Handbook PDF" is a complete copy of it that someone posted online (not advocating downloading it at all, btw).
Don't forget that there are professional testers on the development team, so it's not like things are going untested!
The most valuable feedback from community beta testing is on the usage of the toolset, look & feel and feedback on desired functionality.
That's true, I suppose, but as a developer myself, there's almost always issues that crop up that your team won't find, but one of thousands of users will. Just my 2 cents :)

as for when release say between tomorrow night and afternoon on Friday when phase 2 will be release
I might recreate some existing characters, than start fresh with a human paladin.
