Hombrew classes are not specifically detailed on the roadmap because it is part of the Homebrew Revamp which is on the roadmap.

Thanks, that was not spelled out in the description of the homebrew revamp that was posted in January of this year. Long term road map must mean years. Has to be a juggling mess to keep it all together.

I've also bought the legendary bundle and it costed me 175$...
When did you do that? I paid a lot less than the current list price as well, of course there were far few books included back then. Assuming you own none of the books, Current list looks to be 573.49 USD
I don't know how this conversation devolved into "why hasn't DDB already done what they plan to do in the future?"
The answer is development takes time. Making the homebrew tools easy to use takes time. Making homebrew classes possible takes time.
Considering that we already had the tools for free from the community that already did all the stuff people are requesting beyond do before Beyond even started, yeah, I think its justified to have the "What F is taking you so long " conversation. The Beyond development happens at the pace of continental drift and because Wizards of the Coast has eliminated all competition for them that the community could have provided, they have absolutely nothing pushing them to succeed. Its just another example of sweet heart deals for lazy inept companies who are too incompetent and scared to compete. If Wizards released the community to create their own tools within 3 months Beyond would be considered utterly useless compared to what the community would create and they would do it a thousand times faster.
We don't have the tools though, I think you're confusing the act of creating homebrew classes in a google doc or homebrewery, with the actual tools needed to allow people to create homebrew classes within the sites tools. You know, without breaking everything every 5 minutes. Classes are big in terms of mechanical design space so the tools need to be incredibly robust; just look at how much work it took to get the artificer working. This isn't a simple task.
(I don't know any specifics, but) I just want to point out that WotC did not eliminate DDB's competitors, they took down sites that illegally distributed WotC's intellectual property. There would have been no presure to have those sites taken down otherwise.
Other sites and services do have character builders, and let you use your own homebrew (with varying degrees of ease of use).
That's not true; it's illegal to host non-SRD content, but you can make SRD compatible tools till the cows come home. There are plenty of SRD tools out there, DDB being the official toolkit doesn't change that.
But the data is open to the community, you can use the SRD to make your own character builders and homebrew tools. You can use it for generators and tables like Donjon does on their website
I did this recently. It cost $573.49 then apply the 25% discount and add a year's DM Subscription. Which cost around $500.00 bucks. After that, I preordered everything at the 15% discount the Legendary Bundle applies to an account. All and all it cost me over $500.00, which I gladly paid to support D&D Beyond.
I foresee greatness in this company in the future. Recently, I only had a few complaints which compelled me to start this discussion. The better-informed people that have kindly shared their opinions and knowledge lead me to research deeper. Many of my complaints were formed from a lack of information on my part. Knowing now that a lot of this will be addressed in the D&DB Developers Road-Map. I have altered my opinion through my research, personal discussions, along with this discussion.
Am I 100% satisfied? No.
Do I feel I have found a workaround to get what I want? Yes.
On one hand, I am happy to see that they will be addressing my concerns eventually. On the other hand, the timing to get these things done is a bit disconcerting. Some of these long term plans haven't moved in forever and the descriptions are so vague. I'm having to take someone's word that "Homebrew Revamp" means a lot of things. Including Homebrew Class Creation. It is what it is, and this too will pass given time. It just seems like poor management of the Trello tool.
Few of my players will be able to fully enjoy the easy D&DB brings to D&D. Some will be left to muck around in the choppy Homebrew thingy to make things work for them. Others will be left to use a pencil and paper and send me photos of said character. As the DM, I'll review each and determine what works best for me to organize it all together. I am currently thinking about saving the photocopied characters in my campaign section. That way it will all be accessible on DDB. Not sure if this is the best course of action, need to chew on the idea more.
As for other sites and the whole not sanctioned by WotC creations. I have to admit the public would create something faster and even has. Would it be good? Roll those dice, who knows? Maybe D&D Beyond needs to hire those that have faced the problem down. For me, I chose to stand beside D&D Beyond, at least until my DM Subscription ends on September 2020. It seems like an appropriate amount of time to judge how well they address the Road-Map. Then I will decide if they deserve more of my money or I should cut my losses for this hobby I love and return to analog.

No product will ever be 100% satisfying, that's an impossibly loft goal and an unreasonable standard to hold a company to.
The homebrew revamp has been explicitly stated to be the overhaul the homebrew tools need in order to facilitate homebrew base classes. Currently the homebrew system available is not robust enough to allow homebrew classes.
The tasks have vague descriptions and irregular updates because it's not meant to be a rigorous and comprehensive project status tool for the public, it's just to give us a general idea of what's being worked. DDB doesn't release internal timelines because they have an agile methodology to react to whatever WotC decides to release. They can be chugging along on the homebrew overhaul when suddenly WotC drops a new book and DDB has to then start making preparations to integrate that into the system.
DDB does and has hired those who have made those tools, the development team from Avrae now works on making Avrae an official discord bot for D&D/DDB. But a lot of stuff that the public produce is not up to being a consumer facing project. When you have a lot of people throwing stuff against the wall, some of it sticks. But just go on the app store and see how many awful character apps there are to understand that opening stuff up to the public to develop doesn't always (if at all) yield a crop of worthwhile returns.
Also dunno why you say "cut my losss for this hobby I love and return to analog"; you can play D&D without using digital tools as many (probably the majority) do.
I am in agreement with much of what Davedamon stated. ...possibly for slightly different reasons, but I'm not sure if that's the case. (The Internet is a frosted window at best.)
With a product this versatile that has a playerbase so widespread in playstyles, I'm amazed how much DDB manages to accommodate already with so much more on the roadmap.
I don't rely on DDB 100% and I don't think DDB is intended to be such a thing to completely replace the physical tabletop, but they have done so much for me as a non-sub. I've seen so many table-top replacements that try to do it all and either get overly complicated fast, have to change their focus from all-encompassing to a narrow audience to recover (far more narrow of an audience than DDB seems to be successfully targeting), or end up going under for lack of resources. The products, who take a focus with their progress, progress faster and last longer than those who try to do it all at once. That focus will mean some implementations will take precedence or, possibly, will rule out incompatible considerations as things move forward.
DDB is also a business that already earned some of my paid business and, likely, will get more in the future as I progress with D&D and can budget it. I won't pretend that income isn't a factor for DDB, but it's also a motivator for them as well. Where I fit in that motivation is among others who do business with DDB. I take that into consideration as well. (I find myself repeating the refrain, "It's not about me. It's about us," more and more in the recent years.)
That doesn't mean I've lowered my standards but also means that I do not discount all that DDB and other digital TTG product do for me just because they can't do it all. I would find myself to be unreasonable with such an expectation of anything.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

I don't expect 100% satisfaction. I would appreciate at least 75%.
There is a clear place in the Trello to add a description that was all I was pointing out about the Homebrew Revamp. The majority of this discussion could have been completely avoided if they had just added a description.
I agree with the majority of what you are saying about the public stuff. It ranges from crap to mediocre, and as I stated I'm standing behind DDB (at least until September 2020) to see what they create.
Glad they have hired people. It always warms my heart to see those that know what they are doing working on something I love.

Yet, I'm not going to keep throwing money into something that has not addressed things I want by the said time. Thought that was clear. I hope that helps you understand what I am saying.

Only buying things that i know i will either use with my players or that i'm interested in.
The only negative i have with DDB, is that even with a Dm account sub, you can only share content in 3 campaigns
