Hello, I don't know if I'm in the good section but anyway my character made a deal with a dragon and my GM talked about gaining a level in Warlock but also open to other suggestion and I would like to know if anybody would have any idea?
For the story of how it happened our group was looking to fight some creatures and with the random encounter we found a dragon so during the time he was coming closer the rest of the group run away but my character as he is studying dragon decided to rest in the open and study it, after the dragon burn the forest during the time the rest of the group was hiding in tit but lucky enough they were in a cave. After that the dragon came to my character ho was able to make him believe he was worshipping him. After that the dragon feared him with a failed wisdom throw and after that he was able to convince him since that was the first time seeing a dragon it was a normal reaction. After that the dragon attacked him and with a natural 1 in intelligence saving throw just took the hit, survive and the dragon I guess since he survived made a deal with him.
2 things. 1st there is no dragon patron warlock (to my great dismay). 2nd, only an ancient dragon (or at least a powerful adult) would be able to be a patron anyway.
And being servile to a powerful creature does not mean you have to be a warlock. I would take the not being dead as all the reward I need. But you could work out a story reward, an item (not dragon treasure, maybe a scale or claw that can be made into an item later), a charm, or a boon instead.
If you are set on being a warlock and the DM is cool with it, you can homebrew it. Maybe something like at level 1 a sorcerer cantrip, resistance to the dragon's element, and adding CHA to spells that do the dragon's element. Level 6 can be frightful presence once per short rest. Level 10 could be something that increases HP, AC, or gives temp HP. And level 14 could be Dragon breath. Just ideas.
Thanks for the idea that' sound pretty cool! I'm not set to be a warlock that's my DM who told that as a first idea and said we could work out something else not to force me into taking a level in an other class.
I just finished my first one-shot and decided to give one of the characters that passed a DC check a dragonmark (w/cantrip & 2 uses of a lvl 1 spell) and if we continue to do a one-shot in the same campaign setting they can bring characters as relatives of theirs and the dragonmark has a 50% chance of reappearing.

P.S: Also we're just level 2.

If you don't want to be a warlock there is no reason to be. I say go with an item/material or charm.
