i wonder where is everyone ... particularly BadEye right now ? its been what 2 days we ask about this ... and my other question to him is ... whats up with the next update about the equipments ... its been 3 weeks last time he said timeline was still good for the 2-3 weeks ... i guess something went wrong or it get delay for multiple reason. I just think it would be nice to heard of him by now about those 2 subjects
i dont say it in a bad way i just think its good to inform people about stuff like that on a regular basis
Unfortunately, unlike the Tortles, the Grung aren't AL legal apart from the Rogue surrogates.
I couldn't care less that they aren't AL legal. I hardly play AL except at conventions. AL games aren't real games...nothing you do has an effect on the world outside of the 4 hour game...

I suspect the Devs are all away as the last two subclass sneak peaks (rogue scout and grave cleric) haven't been posted on the home page, but are on their Twitter feed. Maybe they were too emotional over the end of the Critical Role campaign this week?
you better ask it on the developer stream with BadEye the 20th of this month i guess if your lucky enough you will have one .... seem like its been over a week that thread been started and its like we been just ignored maybe because they work on something or maybe not just a statement on this by BadEye if they work to get it if it will not be available at all etc... would be appreciated but like i said the 20th he will make a video and answering questions ... if your lucky maybe your question will be answer
I spent $ to use D&D Beyond for my HOME GAMES ... if it is just going to be AL only content then it should be a FREE or only a subscription service and no purchasing of content if this is a MARKETING TOOL FOR AL.
I very rarely play AL because I support D&D Home play and prefer organizing many home games that have many players. AL is a minority of players in my experience. I use to run D&D encounters and 3.5 organized play for many, many years. It was all free.
I'll be looking for a refund if we are only going to be seeing AL content and not all content from WotC (even if it's unofficial or not AL legal) I could care less about AL legal.
AND I would love to support a charity like I did with the Tortle

Unearthed Arcana is coming. I don't know about One Grung Above, but I'm hoping for it, too.

I don't know the full details, but I do know that the Curse team looked at adding One Grung Above to the site, like they were able to do with the Tortle package - there have been non-technical issues with doing so.
I think it's important that you know it's not just been ignored.
Also, D&D Beyond is not going in the direction of "AL legal only" though there may be an "AL compliant mode" that can be switched on, some time in the future.

You actually edited this and then said yeah, that's how I want to sound...
Wow.

The most memorable stories always begin with failure.
I don't see this way of handling the Grung as not AL legal. I play exclusively AL games and now have to play a Grung Surrogate. This being said why am I not allowed to have this character in my settings. The point of DNDBEYOND for me is to not have to carry a PAPER character. Why not have pregens from the starter characters to the surrogates available in the builder. Not sure I like the way the staff treats us AL players. We follow the rules but we get treated as varmint beasts instead of what we are... loyalists.

When at first you don't succeed... Give up and try something new.
I'm sorry that you feel that you're being treated poorly by staff, that's never a nice feeling - can you explain what makes you feel that you're being treated poorly?
As I mentioned above - Curse tried to work out a deal to include Grung on D&D Beyond, but it wasn't possible.
However, the staff are busy working on adding to D&D Beyond, including expanding the homebrew system to include races, which will allow you to recreate Grung for your own use.
Anytime an average AL player can do something in a normal AL game and not be able to have that translate exactly in DDB is a point of contention that should have either been addressed between WotC and Curse before the content became available or should have been better considered in the design of the DDB platform, as it is selling itself as the digital source for 5th Edition that will allow a player to play "with advantage."
To that end, it is silly that DDB does not support Adventure League play "out of the box," seeing as that is WotC's premier play network. And by supporting it, I mean the following:
-DDB does not offer AL Adventure paths that are meant for in-store and convention play. (Those can be found on the DM's Guild website, but that doesn't help those trying to buy into the DDB experience. DDB at least offers the larger adventure splat books, but that leads to the next issue.)
-DDB does not allow characters access to special items and spells that they might acquire over the course of that adventure unless the player has purchased the adventure module or is in a campaign created by a DM who has. For your average play-by-post or Discord/Skype/Twitch game, this isn't so much an issue, but for players using their DDB created characters at in-store or convention events, this means that, unless the player has purchased the module, they cannot equip items given out at the table via item certificates or other means without the live DM also using DDB and also maybe purchasing the module and also maybe having a campaign link to share with the table before, during, or after the game, and then this process needs to be maybe negotiated again if the player goes to another table for another game, and if they leave that last DM's campaign link they can't trade their items anymore because they and their trading partner may not have access to those items again. (Some of this might be mitigated by letting players just make "homebrew" versions of those items and equip them, but that leads to issues and questions when the character moves to another DM at another table. Homebrew is something of an anathema when it comes to organized play. The suggestion to just "homebrew" things to make up for DDB's normal faults leads to more issues later.)
-DDB has a lot of content that doesn't quite work correctly with the current character builder. This causes issues with AL play because it seems that Curse was more interested in pushing out content instead of making sure that content actually functions or is represented correctly in their system. Something as basic as racial spells or monk ki point options are a good example of this. These are issues from the Players Handbook. The most basic thing an AL player can use to build a character with outside of the free content. Yes, there is a promised update that will address these and other issues in the works, but it really should have been a priority much earlier in the process. If basic things didn't work in the builder, that should have been addressed before piling on even more options with Volo's and XGE material. Also, having a filter or other user interface tailored to AL play from the beginning would have been nice, considering that, once again, AL play is the backbone of WotC's in-store play network. Having it be what feels like an afterthought that we have to beg for after the fact seems silly to those of us responsible for being in charge of AL at our local stores and, theoretically, being ambassadors for Curse in maybe introducing our players to DDB for our AL play.
There are other gripes as well, but those are lesser issues with DDB that are hopefully being addressed as part of larger update packages in the near future.

All of d&d is not real. that's the point of d&d to make a game to calm down and have fun even home games.

How to add Tooltips
Any updates on this?
The Grung are available as a player race on dmsguild as "One Grung Above" with all of its proceeds going to Extra Life.
Is there any chance DnDBeyond would get Grung as a race with its proceeds going to Extra Life as well, much like the Tortle Package?
Even if it isn't AL legal, I would love to have Grung built into the Character Builder! Plus I could give to charity! It is a win-win!
