Has anyone figured out how to replace the damage values when creating a magical weapon? For instance I am trying to create a magical dagger for one of my players and I want it to do a little more damage, like a +3 modifier. Now I know when creating a magical weapon you have the ability to add a modifier that in theory should add the +3 damage, but whenever I do that when the player actually equips the item it lists two different damages, the first being the original weapon's damage the second being the 1d4+3 I created, but it only calculates the original and not the new damage.
Is the only option here to just include the bonus damage in the description and hope my player remembers it, or am I just a dummy and cannot figure it out.
