Hello and thank you in advance for reading this post! I am an experienced DM starting a new PbP via Discord and am looking for 3-4 players to join in on the fun. I will be running the campaign "The Wild Beyond the Witchlight" - with my own flair of course :) Expect Sugar and spice and everything nice with a dash of horror and the supernatural!
I will select the top 3-4 applications from this thread Sunday, March 13 and send those individuals a DM with the discord invite. There will be a trial period that consists of the first Chapter of the module. I require a minimum of one post per day, but expect more interaction to keep the game flowing and enjoyable for all. After the trial period as long as you have contributed your required posts and are getting along with others, then you can decide whether to stay on for the rest of the adventure or take your leave if you wish.

What is your character’s moral code? Are they a natural do-gooder? Or, does their sense of warped morality come from a sordid background? A character’s alignment will heavily influence their actions, be sure to outline why they arrived at their moral code
Does your character have any personality quirks? Do you get hiccups every time something surprises you? Or, do you have compulsively share ‘fun facts’ about everything, that are usually wrong? Personality quirks brings a character to life
Is there anything that your character fears? Hero, champion or winner. We all have fears! Knowing your character’s fears will influence how they navigate through their quests.

Each character in the adventuring party visited the Witchlight Carnival when they were a child—in fact, they snuck in without buying a ticket—and had something stolen from them. Fate brings the characters together as adults, united by the common goal of retrieving that which they’ve lost. Use the "insert spoiler" function to tell me what your character has lost!

Character backstory: Chelsea Koraline is a young Triton girl that was raised in tavern runs by her parents. Her father was the bartender while she and her mother would works as one of the few barmaids and instrumentalists/ singers/ dancers. Chelsea's parents were adventurers, and so they keeps on reminding her to never go far from the town because they wants their daughter to live without having to faces with the dangers of the world. Of course, Chelsea always wanted to learn more about the outside world. And so one day, after hearing some guests talking about something called a circus, she decided to snuck out and follows behind the strangers (typical rebellious teenager stuffs, even though she was like 7 at the time). Guess which circus they went to? Yep, it's the witchlight carnival. And the night was of the greatest night she has ever experienced, why she was even lucky enough to stole a brightly painted wooden unicorn as a memento! Well, she would, if it wasn't stole by a bunch of faries. She chased after them into the forest, and she chased them far. So far into the gorest, that by the end of the chase, she was facing up with an Archfey, and it just so happens to Hyrsam, the incarnation of music. He was so suprised and impressed that this toddler would go so far to retrieve something she admitted to have stolen from other, that he gave her a deal. The contract is simple: Hyrsam would gives her the power and tool needed to retrieve her stolen possession, in returns, Chelsea must retrieves the toy no matter what l, while occasionally doing a few favours for him. As a child, Chelsea didn't even acknowledged the downsided, she just cared that she'll able to get the toy she didn't even bought back, and signed the contract. The moment she shooked the Archfey hand, she falls as sleep and woke up back in her house, as if nothing has happened. Well, something did happened. Her pupils now morphed into the shapes of a butterfly with musical notes around it, marking her as a feylock, and looking through them would grants you vision of the fey realm itself. Most customers were weirded out by this so her parents decided to grooms her hair and uses it to cover her eyes (don't ask me how she sees through them, the best I can come up with is that her eyes is now enchanted). Another weird thing is that the morning after she made the pact, under her bed is a intricately carved wooden box containing a magical viol. The bow's string weas as sharp as a blade and the viol sounds seems to always overwhelm other noises, no matter how loud they all. But the weirdest thing is that her performance seems to attracts a lot of customers, even animals, woodland critters would came to see her perform. One time, there was an adventuring party that went back the town specifically to watches her performance again. As good as it is for business, her parents were of course rather curious as to how this happened. And after they found out that she made a pact with an Archfey, they demanded her to break the contract, worry that their daughter just sold her soul. Chelsea doesn't remembers much about that night encounter with Hyrsam like how she remembers the carnival. So her parents, reluctantly, let her goes off adventuring to finds a way to breaks the pact at the age of 15 (the mature age of Triton). After hearing many tales from various adventuring parties, she was escatic to hears this. She gathered what she heard was essential to adventuring, the mysterious viol, and her parents old journal, before heading off, going on an adventure that she always dreams of. As for the miscellaneous stuff, she has a great fondness of animals and the worst thing that could happen to her is to be pushes around.
(Before anything, yes, it's a bit similar to that of a disney princess, but we're going on the feywild, so I imagine it would works well. Also, while she starts of as a Colledge of Glamout bard, I will eventually take some level of feylock.)

Backstory: Bog is currently 22 years old, An ork born in a Tribe in the Spine. The Black Axe, The Tribe since his coming of age tasked him with protecting The Tribe and warning of any raiding Tribes, One day Bog fell asleep from drinking too much Booze. And A raiding party came through, Killing everything he knew. He now wanders Faerun, Seeking Something belonging to his tribe, so that he may return to the Spine and rebuild. Steadfast, Stupid, but full of Heart. He is a Good Ork, believing in strength rather than silly words like money or wealth. Bog Likes to talk about himself in the third person, and tends to take things a little literal, regardless of what it is. Bog is not afraid of anything, Except Snakes and spiders, and being on a ship on the ocean.
Bog seeks a handheld Totem, about the size of a tankard. Wooden and having the markings of his ancestors. without it he cannot return home and rebuild his Clan. it was lost in a Carnival he went to.
How old is your character? ~30. That's his best guess though, how long he was in the fey wild before wandering back to the material plane is unknown. Approximately eighty seven years had passed in the material plane when he returned.

Rashigume was born from a pair of hobgoblin parents, youngest of a brood of five, in a community of Hobgoblins known as the Storm Horns located in The Storm Horns - mountainous desert region of Fae'run - who under the guidance of a pair of blue dragons came to dominate the region. For generations they would drink some of the dragons' blood in a ceremony of rites which would help determine their place in the community. This community thrived on the help from the dragons, gaining intellect, magic, and wisdom, and the detriment of others. Familiar with oddities occurring due to their interaction with the magic of their benefactor, Rashigume's disappearance was not entirely remarkable. Rashigume's return found the community in all but ruins, having garnered too much infamy the dragons were slain along with the most of the community. The few who remain honor the bones of the dragons and toil in the harsh environment. Though a sect splintered off before the downfall to seek a more peaceful existence, nothing is known of their state or whereabouts. With little left of the community, Rashigume works where he can though he never stays in one area too long, searching for the other half of his community, whom he's told his family went with.
What is your character’s moral code? True Neutral - Most are quick to distrust a chromatic blooded hobgoblin but those that let him get close allowed him to realize that the similarities between himself and others are greater than his differences. He's been the foe to many, and vice-versa so he holds no strong allegiance to any but those he cares for.
Does your character have any personality quirks? Dragon-hoard like tendencies, likes games of chance, short tempered. Affinity for lightning and thunder.
Is there anything that your character fears? To die alone, with no friends or family, being discovered as a member of the Storm Horns and persecuted if any are around who remember them, getting lost in the fey wild again.
Rashigume lost the dragon tooth necklace that their mother made for them in their fifth summer. They don't know when or how it was lost but they remember running from the carnival and stopping to catch their breathe and it was gone.

He was raised by his mother, if you can call it an upbringing. He was most of the time left to play on the street, and very soon he got in with bad crowds, making a pretty penny for his mother and for himself pickpocketing and thieving. At the ripe age of 13 he was thrown in jail, and while in there learned how to sing, and to play instruments. When he was released, he decided to pursue a life of entertainment rather than crime. It didn't really work out, and a strange turn of events, involving a rich merchant's wife, a well-aimed goat and a drunk dwarf, found Baccan making a living hunting down criminals in the cities of Faerun...
What is your character’s moral code?: Chaotic Neutral. The law and everyone else has screwed Baccan over more times than he'd care to count. He can rely on himself, and no one else.
Does your character have any personality quirks?: Baccan is a fellow who likes to live life on the edge; the thrill of a dangerous life is what he wakes up in the morning for. That, and the promise of a flagon of wine and a beautiful woman to serenade with music (which doesn't always go to plan). He enjoys gambling, entertaining, and doing magic tricks. He is an eloquent fellow who taught himself all the fancy words he knows, and takes great pleasure in confusing people with simply the words from his lips.
Is there anything that your character fears?: To be shackled with a great responsibility. He loves a free life, and to be burdened with responsibilities is something he pretends to be able to handle, but which he finds frightening. He also fears being ignored.
Baccan lost a brooch belonging to his mother, which was the only thing she ever gave him out of love when she wasn't drunk. He cherished it, and wants it back. Although he would never admit it to anyone.
