Let me first begin by saying that I am so grateful for the support and the overwhelming reception from the community. There has been so much interest and encouragement in this process that I cannot thank my friends, my players, enough for the completed project that I get to share with all of you. After a few full run-throughs with several different groups, I am comfortable enough with this campaign to open it up to the internet. Without further ado, I am so so happy to present to you:
THE SETTING... Runeterra is a world many may find familiar, and yet so strange.
The year is 988 AN.
The state of the world, is such:
The Noxian General Jericho Swain (long thought dead at the hand of a now eighteen year-old Irelia) has freshly taken over Noxus and announced the Trifarix. Swain, Darius, and an unknown third, promise Noxus a time of prosperity and peace. Their troops are already being recalled from around the world to be welcomed home.
A long forgotten Emperor has re-emerged from the sands of Shurima and is pulling up cities from ruin with the power of a word. Supposedly, the kingdom is being restored and great beings have risen with him. People whisper of The Ascended and monsters that wander the desert. With the return of these titanic beings, equally great terrors awaken to meet them.
Demacians, the sequestered elite, struggle with internal politics and encroaching dangers on their borders. The tall mountains and deep forests that once divided them from outlying lands seem less imposing and safe than they once did. Whispers and shadows lurk at the borders, leaving only a tentative peace lingering over the alabaster kingdom.
The First Lands, Ionia, freshly relieved of Noxian assaults, struggle to return their land to the perfection of it's prime. The spirits here have felt great sorrow and loss, and the face of this beautiful archipelago shows it plainly. Ionians linger in uncertainty. Some of the elders preach peace and a return to tradition. Other elders are driven to action, afraid that war may have forever changed their way of life.
The Blue Flame Isles, most notably containing the pirate-den Bilgewater, continue to bubble in a volatile fashion as the brutality of the Reaver King, Gangplank, drives the denizens to terror. Along with the stirrings from the nearby Shadow Isles, the area is subjected to great unrest. Certainly the tides carry signs of great change in Bilgewater's future.
In the farther reaches of the north, large tribes roam and clash against each other for territory, resources, and spite. Outside of these tribes, the Frost Priests work hard to heal, aid, and silently suffocate worship of the Freljordian demigods. Like the vast blizzards, the truth of this land is obfuscated and buried. Some speculate that reincarnations of powerful sisters have awoken in the Freljord, perhaps the only answers to the future may lie in their past.
THE CAMPAIGN... Many in Runeterra saw the lights streaking across the sky. A peculiar light from Mount Targon was not an entirely unusual event, but never had the mountain thrown three twinkling lights that flashed across the land like comets. The Broken Lights, as people were calling them, were interpreted many different ways. Some saw them as another sign of hope in the dawn of change, while others interpreted them as an ill omen of certain doom...
In the days and weeks that followed, the speculation grew so frenzied there were even rumors that Professor Heimerdinger was preparing to send an expedition. Those with adventuring talents and proclivities could be handsomely rewarded, proving they can live to bring back the secrets of the Broken Lights.
THE OVERVIEW... Rules: 5e Homebrew: Some Cost: $20 per session, paid via Apple Pay or Paypal. Frequency: Weekly, at best time agreed by group. Size: Five player parties
I'm Luka! I have been a DM for quite a while now, recently expanding my availability to campaigns beyond my friends and Discord D&D servers. The community is phenomenal and supportive, and I'm only so thankful that people are receptive to my style. My entire life I've had a passion for mimicry, sound effects, voice work, and D&D has been a perfect asset for things that are usually just personality quirks! I love group storytelling, role play, free-flow creativity, and creating a safe immersive space for a group of people to explore a different world. Overall, I use a fairly serious and realistic narrative with moments of comic relief. You can expect a variety of experiences in a living world that will develop with you and your party.
Table Rules: 1. Always be respectful of everyone at the table. 2. No meta-gaming. 3. Be punctual. This is a game that you pay for, and games play through the designated run times. 4. Always Communicate. Whether it's discomfort, confusion, scheduling conflicts, or objections, I can only work with what I'm given. 5. No Refunds. Your session fees also cover my non-refundable time and energy spent in preparation outside of sessions.
My Style: 1. Role play matters! We can usually pause for interactions, but be aware that we are all sharing this time together at the table. 2. Bonus Action health potions, save your actions for the important stuff. 3. Situational limits: sometimes I will only allow two players to make skill checks on something, unless the party has plenty of time they can spend on the task. If they so choose, one of them can give the other advantage by helping. 4. Information: If someone has already attempted to glean new information from a skill check, you can only attempt the same check if you have a higher modifier on the skill.
All my preferences and stylizations are to encourage a welcoming and fun environment where players aren't left feeling like their time has been wasted. I am very flexible in creating a tailored experience centered around the players at my tables. Participation, immersion, and consistency are what I prioritize in my sessions. I can't wait to tell some stories with you!
What To Expect: 1. Introductions, weekly schedule, character creation, rule discussion, warnings, and expectations will all be handled in a Session Zero. There is no charge for this session, and it is when I will collect payment for the first session. D&D Beyond is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. 2. Enjoy the adventure!! After the first session, I must receive your payment BEFORE you can participate in the session. Include your character's name and the date/time of the session with the payment. We will use Discord for voice chat, and Roll20 for maps and combat. 3. Don't be afraid to communicate. You do not have to pay for any session you miss, but let me know ahead of time. I don't auto-kill characters or kick people for absences, but this is an immersive campaign with a complex storyline that is best played with maximum participation. If you, for any reason, do not wish to continue the campaign, please let me know so that we can open your slot for another player. 4. Have Fun! This is a full-length campaign in a unique and rich universe that will run from Level 1 to Level 20, and is bursting with potential. Enjoy, explore, and experience a new place with some new friends.
5. This is guaranteed to be a very unique experience, as all of the maps have been personally illustrated by myself. They are all specifically designed and arranged for this campaign to ensure continuity and immersion.
Additional 5E Content: Some players have access to a vast collection of resources here, or on websites like Roll20. Because of the huge quantities on D&D information available online, I do require the use of this (Chrome) extension: Beyond 20.
By using an extension like Beyond 20 you are free to build your character on the campaign's D&D Beyond page, otherwise you must build and keep it on Roll20.
Interested? If you're interested in joining this campaign, comment below including the following information: 1. Preferred name (and pronouns, if desired) 2. Experience with 5E and D&D 3. Experience roleplaying 4. Preferred settings, themes, moods, and styles you enjoy playing. You may also include expectations here, if you have any. 5. Questions are always welcome!
