How to prepare
Technical Preparation: Players are required to have a webcam & microphone, and have accounts set up on D&D Beyond, Discord, and forge-vtt.com. If players prefer to use physical dice rather than the integrated digital dice, they must be able to show proof of rolls in a quick and efficient manner.
Character Preparation: Be thinking about a backstory for the character you plan to play. I often incorporate character backstories into sessions and it is helpful to know your character in order to do that.
What I provide
The Technicals:
- A private campaign on D&D Beyond with access to all official Dungeons & Dragons 5e sourcebooks.
- Foundry VTT license, and a paid server hosting subscription through The Forge.
- A private Discord Server for the group to role play in between sessions for bonus xp. *This server will also host any useful resource the group needs.
- Immersive ambient audio through Syrinscape.
The Soft:
- Amateur NPC voice acting
- Dynamic Battlemaps and visual aids
Gameplay details
Players can expect:
- A world that changes and reacts to their decisions and has realistic consequences.
RP Style:
- Voices/ accents not required, but welcome.
- No expectation to always be in character.
- Using meta knowledge is discouraged, and making suboptimal character decisions for the sake of staying in character is encouraged as long as it does not encroach on other player's fun.
- I will have a private Discord server set up for us to engage in role-play between sessions, sell/ purchase items, and engage in character-relationship development. Players are rewarded with bonus experience for participating on this server!
Combat Style:
- Ranges, but mostly medium difficulty.
- Monsters know what they are doing, and act relevant to their int/ wis stats.
- Optimizing damage output not required.
Dungeon Style:
- Puzzles, riddles, traps are present but not always a focus.
- Hidden secrets are present and can be missed.
Experience Level Required: - None. Although the campaign is intended for a beginner audience, sessions will be tailored to the experience level of the group and time will be taken to assist or encourage new players with learning moments.

Session 0
How will character creation work
Character creation will be collaborative and take place between session 0 and session 1. All characters must be created using D&D Beyond as part of a content-shared campaign. Stats will be rolled during session 0. If a player's rolled stats total less than the average of the group, they will be given the difference in points to allot where they choose. This allows players to attempt to get high random stats, but does not force them into terrible stats if the dice are less than favorable. Assistance creating characters will be given as needed free of charge and as availability allows.
Players who enter the code "DM Travis" into the "Notes to GM" section during signup will receive a D&D Beyond Digital book of their choice upon campaign completion.
