Even includes early game for those who worked overnight. Roles sought: Players for various games who want to see a campaign and story through! Beginners and experienced players welcome! About me
Nothing makes me happier than providing a fun experience for others, be it through tabletop roleplay, creative writing, gaming, or any other means.
Almost as soon as I learned how to play Dungeons & Dragons as a teenager, I decided to become a dungeon master. I suddenly had a whole new way to tell stories, and guide my friends in telling them, too. I love using tabletop to build a story around the creative ideas of every player, and believe even the newest players can be the greatest. The best way to learn is to play, and I'm always happy to help be the guide while that happens.
I am a career journalist who loves weaving in themes from history and literature into my games, and even playing homage to the rich literary history that inspired many of the tropes that survive in gaming today.
What I offer
Every campaign I make is a custom game built in a world with its own history, conflicts and themes that inform the overall atmosphere of the campaign. Each group's characters, choices, and even their prologues inform the way the story will unfold and the way the world will respond.
I build games using a variety of maps, city maps, scene references, and character references as appropriate to the story at hand. In addition to finding fun ways to use the monsters provided in D&D, I create extensive custom content that includes monsters, characters, feats, and more. You'll face things in my games that you have never seen before! By the time you are finished with a story, you'll have developed a character that is far more than just the usual collection of stats and abilities. Your roleplay will inform what your character can do and learn.
I take the safety and comfort of players seriously and I provide tools to make sure everyone feels comfortable with the game. I want my games to be a welcoming space for all and hatred is not permitted.
Game details
I run my games through startplaying.games in order to provide everyone a reliable structure when it comes to payment.
Discord is the "home base" of my games, and used to store safety tools, communication, lore, handouts, cat pictures, and more. We hop on voice in there for game sessions.
I use Roll20 as my virtual tabletop. I have a decade worth of useful materials and assets to bring to our maps and tables! I provide books via D&DBeyond as well. Players have their choice of using Roll20 or D&DBeyond to make their character sheets.
