Are you tired of plain old DND? Want to play with veteran dungeon masters and players that know how the rules and software used work inside out? Would you like to play a long term, hyper attention to detail, lore accurate campaign based on the new fallout TV show? Want to play with the official Fallout RPG by Bethesda? Itching to make a character with pages of in-depth backstory with twists and turns? Want to play a campaign with professional voice actors?
If you answered yes to any of these questions. Welcome... Welcome to the wrong place. WAIT DONT CLICK OFF JUST YET. It may be true all interests of yours in the initial tagline will absolutely not be fulfilled. The truth is. I need players to experiment with a brand new RPG system I Frankensteined together in one afternoon. That afternoon I was pondering the best way to get my friends in a dice rolling campaign. They were very interested in the idea, but they didn't have the time to learn so many rules, and piece together character sheets. So I set out in search of: a TTRPG system meeting the following requirements:
Basic enough anyone could learn over a single discord call.
Simple character creation people could get attached to, preferably with customization options and not just randomized on a website.
Flexible settings with rules that make sense for any time period/timeline.
Grand battles like wargames, yet still very much in perspective of individual players.
And it had to be free. And it had to be easily ported online. And it had to have minimal prep.
As I understand it. Similar systems meeting some of the requirements exist. But not all of them, and they were of course way too complex for my purpose of spontaneous dice rolling. So I stitched together something new. I call It "Snake eyes" and it is essentially homebrew roll for shoes with one page rules wargaming. Don't know what any of those things are? Don't worry. It is literally... One page and a paragraph of rules. and players only have to worry about the aforementioned paragraph.
And allow me to introduce to you my campaign setting. Fallout Alton. For the uninitiated. The setting is based on a fallout 3 total overhaul mod. The players start off a part of the brotherhood of steel, The east coast brotherhood from DC have received a mysterious long term distress signal coming from the west coast brother hood. They enlist your help in order to find out what is going on. Players start out on a vertibird midtransit... Little do they know, They are about to crash into the adventure of their lifetimes. solving conflicts, fighting battles, picking sides, and trying to get back to their homes, far away from their odyssey of misfortunes. of course players aren't bound to the brotherhood of steel. They can choose to side with whoever faction they want, backstab any faction they want. etc.
Players should avoid splitting the party, no backstabbing each other. and no Murderhoboing every NPC (at least in the beginning) This campaign is roleplay--leaning and semi-serious in nature. Don't worry, we don't railroad. discussing scheduling on discord is preferable.
TLDR. Fallout Alton is A experimental fallout RPG system ran by newbies is looking to playtest itself for the first time. if you have a interest in having plain dumb fun, not worrying about character sheets and have a couple hours to spare. This is the place for you. Again don't worry about character sheets, you don't have to worry about learning the rules. Don't even worry about prep beyond showing up. NEW PLAYERS ENCOURAGED.
