Edit: The post was well received thanks to any and all who read Going to close out submissions because now I have to break bad news to entirely too many people. I hope everyone finds the table of their dreams!
It’s been quite some time since your character has been able to get a full night’s sleep without feeling as though someone, or something, was waiting to catch them and turn them in… or worse. In a world rife with clandestine factions, earth-shattering magic, terrifying aberrations, and celestial forces, you find yourself at the very end of luck’s rope. Whether it be through wanton gambling, being framed for a crime you did not commit, foolishly flaunting your roguish accomplishments, or simply upsetting the wrong person, your hapless character has amassed a bounty that increasingly attracts the attention of guards, bounty hunters, or worse. Across the known realms, there is only one organization morally questionable enough to provide the arm of amnesty to those in need while still banking some real profit. Rather than settle your debt in prison time or blood, you receive an offer for a lifeline in your rock-bottom circumstances: take some jobs, earn some coin, and pay off your bounty. What’s more, you're told that if you do your job well enough they’ll even buy the bounty outright to spare you from the hunter’s crosshair following your every move. Only those without luck and with little else to lose would consider such unpredictable and dangerous indenture. Can you keep a clean nose whilst paying off your debt? Can you keep your hunter’s pursuit at arms length long enough to clear your name? Have you finally found the bonds that will make you free? Sign right up to find out! [100% Free]
Looking for a party of 3-4 players for a long-term mission-based homebrew campaign. The specific flavor/optics/setting would be fun to build together. I’ve been conditioned by a lot of powered by the apocalypse games for transparent and collaborative storytelling, so lore-wise I’d be looking for players who want a decent say in how their character’s stories develop across time (though I can work with simple ideas). I’ve had good luck in joining some awesome campaigns online previously, so I’m optimistic here.
I’ve had experience in the past with non Dnd ttrpgs (Urban Shadows, Lancer, Monster of the Week), but I wanted to give running a campaign with proper 5e mechanics! The campaign I have in mind will be utilizing 5e rules and will be remote (utilizing Discord, but am open to input on it). TTRPGs are collaborative, so it should go without saying, LGBTQ+ & BIPOC welcome, most all are welcome (sociopaths sit this one out).
Starting Level will likely be level 3, unless the group is addicted to pain and want to start at 1.
To be transparent, I’m 31[M] PhD (not important but I paid enough to mention it every chance I get) and happily married with a few little persons at home. I'm also renting out my soul to some corporate overlords [I have a “big boy” job that demands too much time]. That all can make scheduling Dnd a little brutal, but the more I can create a regular meeting schedule the easier it is to uphold the commitment. As such, I envisioned that the group would meet for a decent chunk of time on Friday evening (I am on Pacific Time) once every 3 weeks. I’d be open to doing it every other Friday for less time, but my gut is inclined toward longer + less frequent sessions with plenty of opportunities for ideas and world/character development in-between. I’d want the agreed on times of sessions to be honest-to-goodness commitments that we move our schedules to uphold, but are understanding of life circumstances/emergencies.
The idea for the plot is intentionally under some development, but it’s meant to be an homage to some of my favorite Dnd content/podcast/campaigns (e.g. TAZ Ethersea, Starstruck Odyssey, Worlds Beyond Number, some Critical Role) and insane things I come across in the fifth edition books I find. I want to try hosting a chaotic, mission-based, bounty-hunter ridden, campaign that has time to be goofy, heartfelt, and to catch whatever tone that we want to develop over time. The setting I had in mind would be high fantasy/traditional 5e fantasy world, in a homebrew city that we’ll help to build up together. It would also likely err on the side of the theater of the mind.
A little about my experience, I’d consider myself intermediate with the mechanics of fifth edition. I’ve played in a handful of mid-length homebrew campaigns and a longer-form 5e campaign. I enjoy combat and roleplay very much, but always find myself gravitating towards roleplay over combat (if a side of the coin has to be picked). In my brain this campaign would likely err on the side of 66.66% RP and 33.33% combat and would be considered casual.
Any adult with any experience in the game is more than welcome to apply- especially newer players that haven’t played Dnd and want to give a fun homebrew a whirl. Pairs/multiples also welcome. In my mind, players with significant experience are similarly so very welcome, as long as they can be patient team participants. I have no real caveats or restrictions on what kind of person you can play, though I would strongly prefer to err on the side of vanilla (e.g. Tasha’s, Xanathar’s, and PTB count as vanilla for sure). I also think the campaign could work with any combination of classes - so long as players take good ownership over their character and their abilities.
My dream scenario is to have players that want to join in making a really good story together by creating and embodying three-dimensional characters with vivid wants, cares, visions of the good/ideal, and ties to the world. I’d prioritize interested players who are open to communicating in the breaks between sessions (especially 3-week breaks), take notes, care about the story, and are transparent about how they’re experiencing the game. TTRPGs are also a game best played with friends, so despite the fact that this post is sort of backwards mining for friends, it would be dreamy to also make friends through the game.
Are you of sound mind, relatively stable personality, and of earnest morality? Apply now!
If you are interested, please fill out the link below and for any questions my DMs are open (though I don't sue Dnd beyond for regular communications)! I will be reaching out via discord to confirm that I got any responses and for general communications.

I saw newer players that have never played and I came running.
