THREAD IS CLOSED, THANK YOU FOR APPLYING!!! I can't figure out how to change the tag for the post so I apologize if you come across this.
Play Location/Method: Via Discord/Roll20
Time/Frequency: Every Friday from about 7pm-10pm EST or later depending on how peeps are feeling.
Current needs: I'm looking for 1-2 experienced players(at least 2ish+ years) willing to hop into a pre-existing game. When I say pre-existing I mean that the party is level 8(you'll start at 8, originally started at 5), and has progressed the sorta far? Not really, but this will be explained if contacted. If this doesn't bother you, great, if not, sorry about that.
Short description of the setting/campaign: This is a homebrew world to preface. The group/cult/organization known as The Forgotten Ones has been amassing knowledge and forces for years, preparing for the return of a celestial/divine being and....something. You aren't told much, only that you were invited to this group to train yourselves to contain this Celestial, whatever that exactly means. The party has of course done some stuff, but we haven't truly gotten into the campaigns full situation.
For a bit of info about me, I'm Moon, and I've been DMing for about 2ish years now, and been a player for about 3. I started up my own campaign that was just for fun and where I learned the most about Dming. I started up Echoes Of The Ancients about 2 years ago, which is my 2nd campaign. I'm very laid back with my DM style, I try not to make too much of a fuss about things. Of course I don't stray too far from the path, but I'm very flexible about things, and will sometimes forego the rules because it sounds fun. I will also roll percentiles and play a tiny game if I'm feeling wishy washy on something, so may the odds ever be in your favor. As a continuation of this, rule of cool is very important to me, I want to bring out people's creativity. As much as I know DnD, I still mess up on occasion with some rulings, so I try to do my best to be fair, as sometimes things can be unfun in RAW. I love working with the player to craft their future, bringing the character to life is something I really enjoy as I have had not so good character development experiences.
About combat, I like to have less random encounters, and more mini-boss and boss level enemies. I know this isn't for everyone, but it gives me a chance to better flesh out my own monsters. If I do pull from official sources, I don't use the stats on the statblock, 95% of the time the stats are modified to better scale to the parties.
We are all adults, and stuff happens all the time, I do get it, but I want to be clear I'm hoping to have you play more often than not. Things pop up last minute, and I understand, but I'm gonna be perfectly clear, I want you to show up every week. I have had issues with my parties slowly falling apart because people weren't as available as they said they were. I don't mind if you're a bit late, as long as you show up. As I said things come up, but if you can foresee there being changes, please let me know. I do a lot of balancing/RP stuff based on who is in game, and if you're sporadic, it throws everything off.
While I of course don't want to exclude anyone, if you are in the EU/Asia, if you want to apply, please, please, be willing, or just able to stay up that late. I have encountered multiple players(they've been amazing, no hate) that consistently don't make it after a couple sessions, and end up dropping out. I understand the time difference is rough, I do, but please understand. If you feel this would be an issue, I ask you not to apply.
I also ask that you please be be respectful to me and the other players, and understanding that my rules and rulings are final. You might not like what I rule, but if you are that upset with it, bring it up to me after game and we can discuss it further. No one wants to waste 30 min discussing if casting Identify through a familiar would still provide info on an object if the familiar is killed on contact with the item. (Yes this happened to us, and among other things was why this player was kicked) My game is DnD: Moon's Edition, and I have a lot of extra rules and homebrew stuff I've added over the years, as well as just normal rule changes. I believe they aren't harsh, and my players have mostly been included on these decisions.
Please DM me if you're interested with the following: Some background info about you Your experience with DnD Your playstyle What you want out of the game Things you want to see from me Combat style preferences Anything you might find pertinent to tell me Any other questions you might want to see from me
If you don't do so I will ignore your messages, I don't mean to sound rude, but I have had users message me and completely ignore the details, which they then ask about. Thank you for understanding.
