“There are those that bear wield only skill, wit, and courage, and those that bear gifts rare. All can leave their mark, if only they dare.
=== The story is yours! ===
The world waits — but not for a hero. It waits for you.
Across kingdoms, empires, and shadowed wilds, countless threads lie untied: wars brewing on distant horizons, ancient ruins whispering of forbidden truths, and powers rising in courts and in the spaces between.
There is no prophecy. No chosen one. No fixed path. No sealed absolute evil. The future will be shaped by the ambitions, fears, and past deeds of those who dare act.
Will you rise to unite kingdoms or plunge them into chaos? Will you uncover secrets best left forgotten or keep them buried? Will your name be sung in triumph — or cursed in the streets?
In this world, there is no script. Every alliance, betrayal, and sacrifice will be born from your choices. Every victory and tragedy will be yours to claim.
This is not a story you follow. This is a story you create.

Hello. I'm interested. I'm Northern Indiana So im Eastern Standard Time Zone. Disclaimer I am a brand new player. idk if thats something you would be okay with
i have a couple books on here and roll20 account if needed.
Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based): I believe my RP experience is advanced overall since I've been playing tabletop RP games for 30+ years. I'm still new to 5e though, but I can hold my own.
What you enjoy most in a campaign: I enjoy a rich detailed environment, and the agency to interact within that environment. I also enjoy personal consequences and accountability, for better or worse. I like to see character choices and actions having long-term ripple effects.
What you don’t like: Selfishness and inconsideration is a pet peeve of mine. For example, in another campaign that I'm in there's a player who sabotages my character's plans whenever I try to organize an approach instead of running blindly towards an enemy. He's gone so far as to casually leave combats while the rest of the group fights tooth and nail to survive. I'm giving serious consideration to PvPing him to the death in our next session, if the DM will allow it. Don't get me wrong, if a character has a tendency to do things like that, I'll accept and even appreciate the roleplaying. However, in my particular case it's coming from the player himself. Yes, that's what I don't like.
Any reservations towards what you read: I have no reservations whatsoever. I've been waiting a long time for a campaign like this.
Yourcommitment: I will attend regularly. I'm in the central time zone and I have Saturday evenings off.
What excites you about aplayer-driven, story-rich campaign (optional): What excites me most about a player-driven, story-rich role-playing campaign is the dynamic collaboration between narrative and choice. In a game like this, the story isn’t something handed down from above — it evolves organically based on the decisions, motivations, and creativity of the players. I love the idea that actions have real consequences and that no two campaigns unfold the same way. The world reacts to the characters, and the characters grow in response to the world. That level of agency makes every decision meaningful and creates an emotional investment in the journey. A story-rich setting also adds depth — complex characters, layered plots, and unexpected twists keep me engaged. It’s exciting to step into a living, breathing world where I can shape the narrative alongside others, forging relationships, solving mysteries, and facing moral dilemmas that leave lasting impacts on the story. Ultimately, it’s the collaborative storytelling that excites me most — crafting unforgettable moments together and watching a shared narrative come to life through the players’ choices.
A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional): The concept I have is for a human rogue who approaches the world with a jaded, sarcastic outlook, not driven by altruism. At first, he would be a loner, finding emotions and relationships cumbersome while striving to be self-sufficient. He would operate with a degree of amorality, driven by self-interest and necessity rather than an underlying desire to help others. Despite his cynicism, he takes immense pride in his craft, refusing to kill unless absolutely necessary, identifying himself as a thief, not a murderer. While outwardly callous, he would demonstrate loyalty to a select few, occasionally showing deeper feelings. He is a quiet, observant character, often thinking more than he says and gathering information to further his goals. His primary motivation is to become rich and get paid, but this would be tempered by his professional code. He would sometimes take jobs, not just for the money but, for the challenge and the chance to prove his skills are the best!
His parents died when he was young, and he was sent to a strict orphanage. He eventually escaped and lived on the streets. His survival depended on stealing, and he quickly developed exceptional pickpocketing skills, making it seem like people had simply misplaced items. While living on the streets, he attempted to pickpocket someone who just so happened to be the head of the local thieves' guild. Impressed by his abilities, the guild master offered him a place within the guild, a secretive order. He was considered a highly promising acolyte within the guild. However, he left, feeling an "imbalance" that made him unsuitable for their way of life. After leaving the thieves' guild, he began operating independently, using the stealth, observation, and awareness skills he learned to his advantage. Perhaps he eventually establishes a safehouse somewhere in the city, but I prefer that detail to occur in-game as part of his story arch.
1. Rp experience: I’ve been doing text-based rp since 2016 (9 year experience). I started doing tabletop role play since April 2025. I fall in between beginner and intermediate. I do get the rules and all, it’s just that I’m still learning. (I’m getting better!)
2. I enjoy the collaboration from other players and potential consequences that will happen in game. It makes it so interesting and exciting. I also hope that everyone in the table is accepting and understanding.
3. The kind of behaviors I don’t like is people who are joking, but they sound rude (if you know what I mean!) I don’t mind if they do it occasionally. But if they do it constantly, we’re going to have problems.
4. I have no issues! 8:30pm is a perfect time for me!
5. I am a committed player. If I do have something coming up, I will let you know in advance.
6. The thing that excites me about player-driven/story-rich campaigns is that our actions shape the future events which I find very intriguing.
7. I don’t have a character concept yet, but I will make one soon! I usually make characters on the D&D Beyond app. I only have tasha’s, phb 2024, so I need access to some books. (I will buy if needed).
**EDIT** I am actually thinking of a character, but not a backstory yet. I was thinking of a female human rune knight fighter. I could change the subclass accordingly.
Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based):Advanced
What you enjoy most in a campaign: I would expect a campaign to be immersive and engaging, and also have the possibility for PC's to form relationships with NPC's
What you don’t like: Nothing related to extreme pain, IE torture and what not
Any reservations towards what you read: Wondering how a spotlight hod or a problem player would be dealt with
Yourcommitment: I would be able to attend weekly
What excites you about aplayer-driven, story-rich campaign (optional): The possibility about the party influencing the world around them, be that for better or worse
A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional): I have two possible char concepts, the first being a retired character that i have which is a lvl 10 path of the totem warrior Barbadian, His narrative at this point would be that he had grown tired of being on the front lines and retired to a small town in a new land to train others thus putting his higher experience to use. The second concept would be a brand new character that would be a college of eloquence bard that had traveled to the land to learn about the intricacy's of that worlds music and art
I am Gopher on discord as my DDB name is different

Interested, experienced player, what is the scale for combat versus diplomacy? And are we book specific or homebrew as well?
Other than the core mechanics of 5th edition, everything else will be homebrew. In terms of combat and diplomacy, it would depend on the choices of the players or party. For example, if the group is tasked with infiltrating a compound to retrieve information, they could began attacking the guards of that compound directly, or sneaking into it. And while sneaking, they will have the choice of persuasion or intimidation, if they disguise themselves as guards - as an example. If you still have any questions, please let me know.
Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based) intermediate, I have plenty of experience with tabletop gameplay, usually played homebrew game. I have a little bit of text based experience but it's been a couple years.
What you enjoy most in a campaign: I enjoy roleplay and story telling! Engaging with the world, NPCs, and the other players! I expect plenty of opportunities for roleplay!
What you don’t like: I don't like rude or targeting people. There is no reason for the other players to be overly rude or mean, even if their character is that type of person, our characters are in this adventure together for a reason! Be nice! Of course I also don't like targeted scenarios, I enjoy scenarios based for specific people, but going after the same person over and over again is intolerable, I have delt with DMS that would target me a lot.
Any reservations towards what you read: Wondering how a spotlight hod or a problem player would be dealt with and how the game would function, it is said it is player led but I hope we are given some sort of goal or reason as to why out characters would be working together in the first place!
Your commitment: I am available to attend sessions regularly currently! I would try my best to give at least a days warning if I can't. The main issue is I might be a little late occasionally because of my child.
What excites you about a player-driven, story-rich campaign (optional): The possibility about the party influencing the world around them, be that for better or worse
A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional): I am hoping to play a character I haven't been able to play fully before. She is a minotaur barbarian (I think- it's been a while and I lost her character sheet) she's based off a scottish highland cow, she's friendly and is always down to brawl. She protects the weak or people in need, her tribe in the Highlands has a hierarchy, fighting for status and showing their strength as they come of age. Those who are too weak are shut out of the tribe. She is a strong character, often protecting the other calfs that were picked on for being weak, she passed her trial for coming of age, but her ideals lead her to leave her tribe. Believing that they should protect and support the weak, not abandon them. (I also have some drawings of her)

Any issues amongst players, or even the host, will be handled through direct and candid communication, in case there are any misunderstandings or misinterpretations. However, if the problem persists, after the issue was delineated clearly, then the source of the problem will be removed from the campaign. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

With respect to goals and reasons, there are overarching plots - in addition to the specific ones set by the characters' backstories - that the party could engage with, be influenced by, or completely ignore.
Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based): Intermediate, I have played a homebrew 5e campaign all the way lvls 1 - 20, I am participating currently in a couple of DnDBeyond online 5e campaigns. I am 36.
What you enjoy most in a campaign: I want to play a campaign where consequences matter, approaching battles tactically and planning operations. Sometimes hilarious fails will happen or unpredictable ambushes - the party would deal with that too. I really like your approach of running a consequences - driven campaign. For example - a party cannot take a rest in the middle of assaulting an enemy fortress outside of clever concealment techniques. I also like characters having secrets or complex motivations. That way there is a reason to RP learn about each others characters during downtime / travel time.
What you don’t like: I have a thick skin, I believe the most important thing in online D&D is respect - let others speak, it's a collaborative story-telling effort. Respect stretches to showing up for the sessions or letting others know in advance you cannot make it, outside of crazy circumstances that happen on the day of.
Any reservations towards what you read: I actually really enjoyed the doc file, I think it should be a fun campaign. My questions during the interview would be along the lines of where does the party start, what can you tell me about the world so I can make the character fit the world and have a reason for joining the party.
Yourcommitment: Absolutely, I am fully in charge of my schedule. On weekends my hobbies are my priority and D&D is currently one of them.
What excites you about aplayer-driven, story-rich campaign (optional): The most exciting thing I mentioned in point 2 - figuring out hidden agendas, making things work in a complicated game world, treating other player characters as fully fleshed out with motivations and issues of their own and not as a 1-dimensional NPCs.
A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional): My current goal is to play the following character, I can be flexible though since I've been trying to play a front-line fighter, but haven't found a chance yet.
Male warlock, of the Fiend path. We would have to work together on what is acceptable in this world though - since magic is rare and more hex-based. Is Eldritch blast even a thing? Appearance: Dark red tiefling. Completely black eyes. Straight long black horns. He is wearing purple-black gold embroidered light armor. Weapons: Small rod on his belt. A few pieces of jewelry and carries a book. Often smiling, expressive hands. Backstory: Dakai grew up under strict parents, often compared to his older siblings and getting chastised for being not good enough. Tried to find his place in society, but failed as a young adult. A schemer, a con-artist, grand plans to get rich, all ultimately failed. In desperation, he turned to forbidden texts and learned about his patron, formed a pact for knowledge and power. If there are devils in this world - his ultimate goal would be to become a full-fledged powerful devil in the end.
