Hey there! We’re a close-knit group of TTRPG players (all 30+) who’ve been gaming together every Saturday for over 9 years. Our roots are in 5e D&D, but we’ve branched out into systems like Blades in the Dark, Scum and Villainy, Mothership, and most recently Fabula Ultima. We’re also excited to explore other titles like Daggerheart, Draw Steel, Legend in the Mist, and whatever else sparks our curiosity.
Right now, we’re looking to welcome one more experienced DM/Player into the fold — someone who’s not locked into the forever-DM role, but who’s open to running a 2014 5e game for us to start things off. Ideally, it’d be a custom campaign, but we’re open to modules if we all vibe with the setting. We’re a roleplay-first group. Combat has its place, but what really drives us is character depth, emotional storytelling, and weaving backstories into the world.
If you’re the kind of person who loves building immersive narratives and collaborating with players to make their characters shine, you’ll fit right in.
Here’s what we’re looking for: • You genuinely enjoy integrating player backstories into your campaigns • You can create compelling characters with rich personal histories • You’re open to trying new systems and experimenting with narrative mechanics • You bring maturity, reliability, and respect to the table
Game Time: Saturdays, 3–7 PM EST — this slot is set in stone. It’s been our weekly ritual for nearly a decade. Start Timeline: We just kicked off a Fabula Ultima campaign, so any game you’d run wouldn’t start until January (especially with the holidays coming up). That said, we’d love to bring someone on board in the next few weeks to get to know each other and ease into the group dynamic. Interview Process: We don’t rush these decisions. Expect a laid-back but intentional chat to see if we’re a good match.
If this sounds like your kind of group, reply with: • Your name (or what you’d like to be called) • A bit about your TTRPG experience • Who you are, what you enjoy/dislike in games, and what you look for in a group • Your availability for an interview No pressure to write a novel — just give us a glimpse of who you are. We’ll take it from there. Looking forward to meeting someone who’s ready to build stories with us.
My name is Alex. I DM a campaign on Sundays and play in a live-stream on Fridays. I've been playing DnD properly for a little over two years now, but I grew up playing RPGs. I've never gotten to try any TTRPG systems besides 5E but I've been interested in 3.5 and PF2E as well and would be open to others.
I like roleplay/character-driven stories and campaigns. When I'm DMing I make sure my player's backstories have focus and like to find ways to tie them in to the overarching narrative. As a player I look for the same thing. I enjoy all three pillars of gameplay but roleplay is my favorite. I love combat as well but especially as a way to deliver character information or creativity. The main things I look to avoid in a game (regardless of my role) are metagaming and disrespectful behavior (bullying, excessive rules lawyering, main character syndrome etc.). I live to get lost in a world and story.
As far as availability goes I am usually free in the evenings PST, though the timeslot listed here also works perfectly.
I go by Penguin, and I’ve been a DM and player since the release of 5e back in 2014. Since then, I’ve run and played in everything from short one-shots and modules to long-term and years-long campaigns. I focus heavily on custom worlds and original stories, as official modules tend to feel too restrictive for me. I enjoy when characters have time to interact with NPCs, when their words and actions carry real weight, and when players can truly pursue and fulfill their characters’ desires. I strongly dislike metagaming, damage/build-focused players, and those who care more about loot than story—or fail to recognize the impact of their actions within the world. Within a group, no matter who I look for people who are fun and exciting to play with people who are willing to share the moment or spotlight.People who are supportive and get along well with.

Welcome to the World of Montel
Montel is a realm of unparalleled beauty, blessed with deep blue oceans, crystal-clear rivers, vast green landscapes, and awe-inspiring mountain ranges. It is a world that countless creatures and people call home. Today, Montel basks in a golden age of peace and enlightenment. The dawn of the Scientific Era has ushered in groundbreaking advancements across countless fields, revolutionizing daily life. Ingenious inventions have reshaped society, and new modes of travel have connected even the farthest corners of the world. On land, an ever-expanding network of train lines weaves through continents, linking bustling cities and remote towns alike. In the skies, majestic Victory-class airships glide effortlessly, ferrying passengers and cargo across immense distances. Even in the realm of medicine, diseases once deemed incurable are vanishing, heralding a brighter future for generations to come. Yet, this age of progress was nearly lost.
Three hundred and seventy-two years ago, a cataclysmic event known as the Great Judgment plunged Montel into darkness and despair. For those gifted with long lives, the memory remains vivid—a time when the sun was blotted out by thunderous black clouds, and an unrelenting rain of white ash blanketed the land. Disease and famine spread like wildfire, and untold suffering gripped every corner of the world. At the heart of this calamity was the once-mighty nation of Destern, located far across the seas of Ascus. Destern’s fate became the stuff of legend. Sailors who dared venture near its waters spoke of a monstrous storm, an impenetrable vortex of ash and lightning that loomed like a cursed barrier. At the center of it all lay an ancient terror, the Judgment itself,a force so immense that it threatened to annihilate Montel entirely. Unknown to most, a group of nameless heroes rose to meet this unimaginable threat. Their sacrifice was total, their names lost to history, but their actions saved Montel. Through their bravery, the storms subsided, and the sun’s light once again pierced the oppressive darkness, bringing warmth and hope back to the world. Though peace returned, the scars of the past remain. The once-great nation of Destern lies forever entombed within the swirling vortex of ash and storms. No ship, no adventurer, no force of nature has been able to breach its cursed perimeter. Like a living barrier, it repels all who dare approach, keeping the secrets of Destern shrouded in mystery. For now, the world is safe... but for how long?
**The Modern Era**
Over the past 15 years, fascination with the lost island of Destern and the dream of breaching its impenetrable barriers has grown exponentially, strangely. Theories abound, fueled by countless failed attempts and the awe surrounding the island's mysteries. At the heart of this movement lies a group known as The Expeditionary Force, a coalition rallying under the banner of the White Rose—a family crest belonging to the influential Delacorce family. While some view the White Rose as a symbol of folly, dismissed as the dream of zealots and adventurers, The Expeditionary Force has garnered remarkable support from unexpected corners. Nations, leaders, kings, queens, and wealthy patrons have quietly funneled resources into their grand project—a venture shrouded in secrecy yet meticulously developed over the past 12 years. Doctors, scientists, inventors, soldiers, and countless others have joined this ambitious undertaking, driven by diverse motivations: curiosity, ambition, and the promise of untold riches or glory. Whispers echo across the land of revolutionary technologies, daring strategies, and the tantalizing prospect of unlocking the secrets hidden within Destern's deadly vortex. The world holds its breath, watching as The Expeditionary Force prepares to face to revile what they have been making. the call for able bodies have been sent out, and the pay is great. Will their audacious efforts finally pierce the veil of Destern’s cursed legacy? Or will their dreams crumble, leaving them as yet another cautionary tale of hubris and doom?
Thank you if you read through this all. I look forward to hearing from you.
