I am a relatively new DM with a group of 3 players currently playing in a homebrewed world. We have only recently started (this past week) so there is not much to catch up on. I am happy to work with new or experienced players and build an exciting story. I would love to encourage this game to build a living character and to roleplay that character in the world we have built. As the world is homebrew, there are some race / class restrictions but I am happy to discuss these with you and how they interact with the world.
If you are interested, please feel free to message me on this platform or reply below.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New players welcome! Location/Timezone: USA GMT / EST Schedule: Monday at 7 PM EST is current game schedule Roles sought: Players (1-3) Game style: Casual with Roleplay.
I understand that life happens. I would like to try and keep the game as once-a-week as possible but missing a session here and there shouldn't be much of an issue. We may need to determine how to manage the characters of players that cannot show one day, but it is understandable if you cannot make every session.
Right now we are on discord and things will need to be theater-of-the-mind until I know what I am doing in (I hope) Roll20 so that I can offer maps as well.
That is... a fair question that I probably should have put in the original posting. My bad hahaha.
Mechanically, the base classes available here on DNDBeyond are all available within the game. I am somewhat cautious about the UA subclasses, however, and would say that any player that wishes to play a UA subclass I'd like to speak with you about it first and see if there are any tweaks or concerns that need to be ironed out before play. Right now the party in game is level 2 and anyone joining will be up to par with the party. In terms of races and the world they live within...
The world as known is made of three large continents with many islands between and around the landmasses. Across the continents and islands, nations have risen and fallen among the races. Humanity lays claim to large amounts of territory, but the elves hold firmly to their ancient homelands, the vulkos and vulkar refuse outside influence, and the zadislan have carved out their own divine nation that they proclaim will one day grow to encompass all the others.
In short, the races that appear "naturally" within the world would be humans, elves, vulkos (using the minotaur race available for rules), vulkar (using the tabaxi race available for rules), and zadislan (homebrewed race, but for a visual idea, think "refined lizardfolk"), half-elf, dragonborn, vulkir (using the shifter race for rules), tiefling, aasimar, genasi, half-orc, kobolds, goblins, bugbears, hobgoblins, orcs, and changelings.
Other races would have to come from outside the material plane, but a player could play a dwarf, gnome, halfling, aarakocra, goliath, firbolg, or tortle if desired.
I was also wondering what resources you use to play this game. Like do you use dungeon fog, roll20, Fantasy Grounds or any sort of thing like that? I'm just a bit curious.
Right now I'm afraid it's all theater of the mind until I can figure out a system to share maps with the group. I am looking at using Roll20 but I am by no means experienced with that system at the moment. I apologize for the lack of software at the moment.
I must say thank you all for showing interest in this game! I very much appreciate it (and the speed really put me back on my heels). I am going to close the invite from here and contact people through direct messages.
Thank you all so very much!

Hey DurudeStorm,
I understand that life happens. I would like to try and keep the game as once-a-week as possible but missing a session here and there shouldn't be much of an issue. Okay. Are you playing on discrod?
If I do join I can't doing the discord sorry.
Yes.
Right now we are on discord and things will need to be theater-of-the-mind until I know what I am doing in (I hope) Roll20 so that I can offer maps as well.
I'm interesting in joining. I'm new here but I do know the basics and I'm a rather quick learner.
I am also willing to join. Could you tell me more about those class/race restrictions and a brief overview of your world?
That is... a fair question that I probably should have put in the original posting. My bad hahaha.
