This is all quiet intresting, I cant wait to see how I might be able to intergrate it into my games.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Someone once asked me why I had a personal vendta out on the entire magic community, well I told them,"They shot my mace, I really don't like it when someone shoots my mace."
Are there some entries missing from the database itself? Can't seem to find stuff like Beholders in the Monster list and Ray of Sickness in the Spells list. Don't get me wrong, this is useful, but I just want to know if the database itself is still being worked on, or it's genuinely missing.
Thanks for this, btw! It's helping a lot in helping me plan for my next Wizard character.
This is great! I'm newer to DnD so having this is going to be a great tool! This may be a dumb question but is this eventually going to be an app?
Per staff:
Is there an app to download? How do I access this on my tablet or phone?
A native mobile app is absolutely in the works for DDB, but at this point for the beta everything is included in the website. The site is mobile responsive, so you should be able to view and use it just fine on a phone or tablet. Just visit the site in your device's browser. If something doesn't look right on your mobile device, that's the kind of feedback we want to hear during the beta so we can make it pretty everywhere. We will definitely share more specifics about the mobile app soon, including how to download it.
I signed up for the beta but have no clue how to download it ?
You should see 5 lil boxes in the top-right corner. That is what Phase 1 of the beta has available for you to browse/use. Right now you'll see Compendium, Spells, Items, Monsters, and Forums. Explore em!

Only the material that is freely available in the free 5E SRD - the Systems Reference Document - is included at this very first stage of the Beta. More content will come later, but how and when hasn't been detailed yet. It seems likely that at least some of the non-free content will be held back until there are subscription and/or purchase options available.
We appreciate your interest and participation in the first phase of the DDB beta. We are committed to be your digital D&D source - a toolset that enhances the Dungeons & Dragons experience for all players. To pull that off, we need your help. Thanks for answering the call!
D&D is more popular now than ever, and it's no secret that the fifth edition of the Dungeons & Dragons game has seen incredible success. In my discussions with the D&D team, comments from other players, and my own experience, a common theme emerges - the comprehensive playtesting prior to launch made the difference. We want to walk that same path as we set out on this journey. If it isn't broke, you know?
This also informed our decision to open the beta to everyone. The more players we can get to engage and provide feedback the better!
Beta Phases
The beta will have three major phases to focus testing on specific features prior to launch this summer:
Phase 1 - Compendium, Listings, and Forums
Phase 2 - Character Builder and Character Sheet
Phase 3 - Homebrew Integration and Campaign Management
These are major features, but not everything that will be available at launch. Other content and features will also be pushed to beta status as they are ready to test.
We will provide updates as each phase goes live. Also look for more specifics and feature previews all along the way.
What's available in Phase One?
At this point, you can use all basic rules content in the Compendium, the three major Listings (Spells, Magic Items, and Monsters), and share feedback and talk all things D&D here in the Forums.
I've been using this stuff for a couple of months at my own table, and it's already hard to live without. We wanted to go ahead and share it with everyone else.
It's beta. Will I lose anything along the way?
We have no plans to "wipe" anything that you create or use during the beta before launch. This is less relevant for Phase One since all the content is reference material, but it applies to later phases.
Where and how can I provide feedback or ask questions?
To share your feedback or ask questions concerning the beta, create a new thread in the Beta Testing & Feedback forum. To report a bug or any other issues, create a thread in the Bugs & Support forum.
Also feel free to let your voice be heard in our other forums.

This is really a fantastic resource. I am a fairly new DM, I will have been DMing for 2 years in August. With the release of this and the DMs Guild I can confidently say Wizards does an amazing job listening and caring for its players.

This is based on the SRD, so not the whole DMG or PHB or MM is inside.
Just an average metalhead who plays DnD in his spare time.
PbP Character: Roberta Thalan, Void Beyond the Stars Otherside
PbP Character: Primus Eidolon, Eotha 2
PbP Character: Usmor Illiqai, Tomb of Corrosion
PbP Character: "Templar" Danver, You're the Villains
Homebrew stuff

Is that why I can't figure out how to get it? Ok
Love it.
