Curse of Strahd is one of the most popular adventures for Dungeons & Dragons. It's a classic and with good reason, as explained in the introductory chapter of the adventure itself.
Over the 3+ years that D&D Beyond has been live, we've grown in size, experience and skills. Hopefully there's no room for doubt that the more recent sourcebooks we've released not only look nicer, but are more functional too.
As a side project, the D&D Beyond Game Content Team is working to update some of the older adventures on D&D Beyond, bringing them up-to-date with our current process & standards.
You'll notice:
Page theming, colors & style that more closely match the published source. Better image placement & formatting across all screen sizes, from widescreen monitor to pocket smartphone.
Hundreds more hyperlinks (I think we hit over a thousand on this refresh) to improve navigation around the adventure. All of the random encounters (see below) are linked up now.
More tooltips, to ensure you have the statistics for monsters, magic items, spells, equipment and more right where you need them.
Interactive styling (hover states on tables).
Better menu. Improved usage of the "side nav" menu on the left side of the page on each chapter.
Higher quality handouts, along with "plain text" for accessibility.
Random Encounter Tables
The random encounter tables now have both tooltips for the monsters and easily clickable links to take you to the full encounter description, later in the chapter.
Handouts
Appendix F has a number of images that are designed as handouts for your players. We've provided clearer, remastered versions of these images in a much higher resolution for you, as well as the full text of each handout in plain text next to the image (on the page - click on the handout image to view the full-size version).
We hope you enjoy this adventure as much as we do!
EDIT: Love the added hyperlinks/tooltips and the improved styling and TOCs/menus, but I'm especially appreciative of the much higher-quality images in the handouts and the text transcripts next to them! The transcripts are great for accessibility and also just generally for readability for everyone, and the handout images are basically at least twice as higher-resolution as the previous versions. Thanks!
Very cool except I'm about 2 weeks away from the final encounter with Strahd.
But cool, I guess. Sure. Cool. Great for everyone else, but cool.
It is. They could have just done nothing and said: "Eh, we already released the book screw it, we are never updating this content again". Strahd has been getting a lot of focus from Wizards due to the diversity and inclusion initiative(for good reasons) and it's nice to see that it's not just the content of the book that was updated, but the total usability.

I don't think PinkRose was trying to be snarky... just bemoaning that the timing could have been better for them.
But not only is it getting more attention now, but the re-release (both WotC's "revamped" box and the Beadle & Grimm "legendary" edition) means there will probably be a surge in interest in this in the near future. It might be dampened by a lot of people playing online instead of in-person now, but I have to agree now's the time!
It was in jest. I'm always up for improvements and while they aren't doing things on my timeline, someone, many someones will get a lot of benefit from the update.
I love the plain text version of the handouts. I've been typing them for my players because the images have been hard to read. Now I can just send both!
WHERE DO I GET THE PC VERSION OF THIS THAT THEY ARE SHOWING OFF? I DON'T UNDERSTAND? AM I STUPID? PLEASE HELP.
one, you don't need to use all caps...
two, if you own the adventure on Beyond, you already have it. if you don't, then the Curse of Strahd: Re-Vamped edition in stores.

This is great! My group is about halfway through the campaign and this is a huge help.
