The battle begins within what feels like a blink of an eye. His companions commence their assault and Vauthok closes his eyes, the various sounds of warfare overwhelming his senses. It’s easier this way. So much easier to let go of the rage that resides within his heart when there is a outlet for it, things or people he can hurt and have no regrets afterwards. So he lets go of the control he has honed over the years and lets out a snarl mixed with savagery and unmistakable pain. Treachery, lost friends, half-filled mugs of mead wasted. It all came to the surface and served as fuel for a rage so potent that it was nearly visible. Muscles swelled and veins bulged as a animalistic sense of bloodlust washed over the barbarian.
Dialated pupils snap toward Kha as he charges the dire wolf and Vauthok needed no more prompting to burst into action. He surged forward towards the massive wolf and leaped into the air, bring the great sword over his head in both hands and bringing down with all his might.
The wounded wolf snarls at Eline after its failed attempt to bite her. It gets ready for a jump on her, crouching down and just as it takes off Trem plunges 2 daggers in the wolf from behind (1 on each side of it). The jump still "kinda" happens and as Trem still holds the daggers, long red gashes appear. Blood sprays everywhere, Eline gets some of it on her, but most colors the snow bright red. And most of Trem's heavy fur coat... He sheepishly laughs at Eline.
Making a quick decision, Reginald at points the largest wolf (Dire wolf) and lets loose with an acidic chromatic orb (Attack roll : 10 Damage : 15) Acid) while maintaining the Bonfire Cantrip.
Eline had covered her face with her arms when the wolf made to jump at her. However, when she looked up again, she saw that Trem had cut the wolf down, and buried both daggers into it. Blood was everywhere, and some even got on her. Regardless, this elven rogue had just saved her life. Her green eyes wide, and her mouth slightly a-gape, Eline mouths "thank you" to Trem, unable to speak at the moment.
Seeing her companions under attack still, Eline turns her sights onto the large dire wolf--likely the alpha, and extends the Ice knife Spell on her forearm, aiming it at the beast.
(She will shoot it in just a little bit, on her turn. Don't worry: fair warning will be given, lol!)
Kha sees the second wolf come charging in towards Vauthok but he doesn't have time to warn the goliath. "Seems like they smell something on you that they like!"The orc remarks as he circles around the larger wolf to surround the beast. He swings his hammer attempting to connect with the rear flank of the wolf, but Kha's footing was not set properly as he maneuvered around the creature causing the hammer to pass harmlessly above his target.
(Rolled in log: 9 to hit, assume that misses.
Are we allowed flanking? I rolled it just in case, but it wasn't any better - 8.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The lunging wolf’s claws raked in Vauthok’s back, leaving ragged gashes behind but it’s almost as if the barbarian doesn’t even notice them. He stumbles slightly but regains his feet just before toppling over into the frozen sands. “Maybe a shower wouldn’t hurt..” He grunts in Kha’s direction before rushing the dire wolf once more and taking a horizontal swing directed at the beast’s face. Take the big one out and the smaller ones will follow.
(Wolf A has Disadvantage on its next attack roll until its next turn.)
