Khessa can't help but think: 'Flying, this would have been an easy victory - and probably without deaths - not even the beast's... but Tookrashk can be so stubborn sometimes! We'll have to do it the hard way'.

The blonde arcane warrior smiles for a moment at Jasper, feeling helped by the cleric's sacred power: "Thank you dear!"

She then throws herself in close combat against the beast, in order to preserve the most vulnerable elements of the group "Well, Mr Feather Bear, take it out on me!"

She telepathically instruct Anator to distract the beast right when she brings her greatsword down on the monster.

(OOC: Anator helps Khessa, giving her advantage on her next attack against the Owlbear - and Khessa promptly attacks with her greatsword)

Greatsword attack: 24 Damage: 7 (Slashing)

The tall adventurer then immediately focuses on defense, since the powerful opponent can only attack her now...

(OOC: Khessa uses Action Surge to act once more: she takes the Dodge action - the Owlbear's attacks against her will be made at disvantage)

Echo very quietly cheers to herself as the surge of shadows hit. She stands still where she is and quickly grabs a black dagger out of thin air, finger tips darkening as she pushes her magic. Sucking a breath in in anticipation, she flings the dagger at the owlbear, hoping that the small blade will do against the large beast.

Attack: 15 + bless 4 Damage: 24 (assuming adv from dim light but can take the first one if the sun's already up)

It is still dark out as you fight the owlbear. It howls with pain as Khessa's blade and Echo's shadow blade find their targets. Blood pours from its wounds, but it remains standing and very angry.

Tookrashk's amber eyes glimmer with the delight of battle, and he bounds over next to Khessa. He bites into the owlbear's shoulder with a sickening crunch and burst of blood.

DM Notes: I will wait a day for Aura to post her turn and then I will bot her. Also, while Tookrashk travels with you he will only make one attack per turn instead of his usual multi-attack, because otherwise he is going to unbalance the encounters too much because he's a big, powerful manticore XD

(OOC: You are the DM, so you rule - just rember Tookrashk at the moment is a big, powerful and wounded manticore... If he's about to get killed, maybe he could suddenly remember he can attack to fulll extent... or maybe he could retreat to safety... or... oh, well, whatever; point is I just pray you don't get our heroic scary monster killed too easily - I love him too much!)

Aura pulls back the string of her longbow and releases an arrow, which strikes the owlbear in the flank, drawing even more blood.

Enraged, the owlbear takes out its fury on the nearest opponent, Khessa, although her defensive posture puts the creature at a disadvantage.

First, it tries to bite Khessa with its beak, but the blonde warrior manages to dodge in time. Then it rakes its claws at her, but again she jumps back in time to avoid being slashed!

Everyone is now up!

Katarina is going to... RAGE!!!!!!! with her bonus action.

 "Flowers and vines temporarily grow around you; until your rage ends, the ground within 15 feet of you is difficult terrain for your enemies." (Huh... second time in a row. Now we know why she's called Spring Blossom)

Katarina is going to use Feline Agility to charge at the Owlbear with blinding speed (I'm pretty sure it's within 60 feet).

She throws caution to the wind and commits fully to the attack (using Reckless Attack), swinging at the beast with her axe as as the vines and flowers that she called into existence twist around the creature's legs and hamper any attempt it makes to escape or get past her.

Greateaxe: Attack: 23 Damage: 9

Khessa, relieved that her technique worked great, insists trying to keep the beast focused on her, giving up caution to try to close the fight once and for all: "You'll have to do better than that, Mr Feather Bear! Still here I am! Come on!"

She again telepathically instruct Anator to distract the beast at the last moment, then she swings her greatsword at he monster.

Jasper draws upon the light of the stars and brings radiant fire down onto the beast. Casts Sacred Flame.

Radiant Damage 2 DC 14 DEX Saving Throw

The previous dagger that hit the owlbear evaporates. Seeing her friends whale on the beast, Echo is encouraged and opens her hand to gather another dagger in her hands. She pokes her head out from behind the trees and throws the blade at the beast again.

Attack: 18 Damage: 4

The owlbear roars with anger and pain as Katarina unleashes her fury. Its feet get tangled up in the sprouting foliage and hamper its movement so that it can't even attempt to dodge Khessa's blow, which spears it through the chest. Blood is now pouring freely from the creature, and as Jasper and Echo simultaneously attack it with blade and magic, the owlbear slumps to the ground, its eyes glazing over.

Katarina pokes the corpse a couple of times with her axe... then she proceeds to decapitate it, just in case.

"Katarina does not think bear-owl thing will be causing any more trouble," she says matter-of-factly.

Jasper runs up to Khessa, Katarina and Tookrashk ensuring they are not hurt. Jasper sees the beast dead on the ground and looks for a few feathers to pluck from the beasts head. 

"Exactly!" confirms Khessa, patting Katarina on the back "Great work everyone! This beast was impressive, but we cooperated so well, that we defeated it without taking any damage!"

Upon noticing Jasper pluck some quills from the creature's body, the blonde arcane warrior does the same: "Good idea! With all the interesting things I've discovered lately, I'd better keep some of these quills - long, sturdy... they look great for writing".

"I wonder if the meat of this beast is good to eat?" the tall adventuress then wonders, butchering some pieces with greatsword blows, removing the skin and putting the meat to roast on the fire. After cooking it, she tastes it (and if it's good she saves some, for everyone, for breakfast and the next day's meals). However, a large amount of the body remains unused (the beast was so big!) and she therefore offers it to Tookrashk "Do you want to taste it, scary monster? If you like it, it can probably feed you for a long time..."

And finally, she tries to go back to sleep, knowing that she too will then have a shift on guard duty...

Tookrashk digs into the corpse with enthusiasm, seeming to regain a great deal of his strength. When the corpse is little more than a pile of bones, the manticore burps and circles a spot on the ground three times before laying down to go back to sleep.
