Eric nods with a smile "Indeed, we won't change a winning team" he says "moreover, I gave my word to a dear person" he pauses to look at Khessa "and I intend to keep it"
"Never had a single doubt" Khessa smiles. Then to the paladin: "Isteval, you must know that not very far from here, near the Goldenfields complex, there was a tiny village called Twardens. There was. Because now it is gone, destroyed by a drow raid".
"They came at night," the blonde arcane warrior remembers "they enslaved as many people as they could, they stole all they could... and any creatures or things they couldn't enslave or steal, they killed or burned. I know. I was there. Because I lived there, with my family. After capturing us, they took us underground, into the Underdark. It's a real miracle that I, young and unskilled as I was, managed to escape".
"Right now, I'm focusing on the threat of the Cult, because I realize that it's the ultimate threat - what would be the point of freeing drow slaves, if then they, together with the rest of the world, were forced to die devastated by an invasion of dragons? But I can't stop thinking about what happened and I'm always trying to glean useful information so I can one day save those left in the hands of the drow slavers" the tall adventuress goes on. "You command many men. Men dedicated to fighting evil. Evil as what happened. Did you or one of your people ever hear about this raid? Or similar raids? Can you give me some information? So that, once I've made sure Ms Five Breaths stays in hell, I can start getting on the trail of those evildoers?"
"You..." the blue-eyed woman is torn between fear and hope "There is something you can do... or discover... You even speak with the gods, don't you?"
Zale doesn't seem to happy about the idea of splitting up, but she stays silent for now. She wants to hear what her companions think about this idea, and she wants to hear this paladin guy's answers to Khessa's questions.
She does get a distant look in her eyes as Khessa tells her story again, though it quickly turns into anger and determination. Khessa is making a point to try to keep that from happening to other people, Zale should do the same...though this hunt is a bit more on the personal level for the dragonborn. Sure she wants to stop the cult from causing more damage, but most of all she just wants her revenge on that blue bastard.
"Once Eric confirms that he wants us back by his side," Khessa seizes the moment to ask the Tyr's the paladin, looking at him with a gleam of hope in the back of her blue eyes "before we set off to continue screwing up The Cult's plans, Isteval, may I ask if you have any news about another threat - albeit a far lesser one than a cult trying to unleash an evil dragon goddess on our world?"
Tha Paladin scratches his beard while he thinks for a moment. Well, there's the Kobold King. We've never dealt with something like that before. If he has evil intentions, he can do a lot of damage. He seems benevolent... for now... We need to keep it that way.
Eric nods with a smile "Indeed, we won't change a winning team" he says "moreover, I gave my word to a dear person" he pauses to look at Khessa "and I intend to keep it"
Excellent! I suggest you get on the trail as soon as possible before we lose sight of the Cultists.

The were reports hinting at possible Drow raids. However, these coincided with the Cult raids, so we initially thought that the Cultists were mistaken for Drow. We'll have to look further into this matter. Isteval turns to one of the Order members and tells him, Percy, take 5 men and make for the Goldenfields and see what you can learn! Percy nods and leaves the meeting.
"Thank you so much, Isteval!" Khessa seems relieved to have obtained someone's cooperation "Meanwhile I will continue to be like a sword in Eric's hand; fear not, we will strike the Cult every time we get the chance. They won't come to realize their crazy and evil intentions".
And with that, the blonde arcane warrior is ready to go... either to spy on the Cult, or to join the caravan to defend.
Moving on. When you arrive at the warehouse, you will see Nixi and Jamna already waiting for you. What took you so long? Nixi asks with a smile on her face.
Ardred Briferhew commands the entire convoy and he is eager to leave. The covoy consists of six supply wagons, fourteen escorts (including you and Jamna), and two dozen laborers marching out to relieve a group that is coming back to Waterdeep for some time off. Those Cultists who weren’t hired as teamsters for their three wagons are coming along as laborers and they are NOT happy to see you again! Zale in particular is the target of dirty looks.
Khessa sighs, seeing that the cultists still seem to resent Zale. She prepares to try to keep her senses on the alert all the time...She will obviously have to be careful that the Cult doesn't kill Zale - and also that Jamna, if she wants to continue killing cultists, does not bringing suspicion on Zale (like she did last time).
The work camp the convoy is headed toward lies 200 miles up the coast. For most of that distance, the road winds through rough coastal hills nestled between the Sword Mountains and the sea. The first 3 days pass without incident. On the 4th day the convoy is attack by Trolls! Briferhew commands you to defend the right flank (the Trolls you're fightingare those the characters must fight. At the same time, Briferhew, Jamna and other NPC members of the escort are dealing with additional Trolls).

(OOC: Do we know how many Trolls are those we characters are facing? Or it's too difficult to assess this now, before the actual melee starts?)

Kriv rises, following Eric. “I’ve been with you hunting the cult since Greenest and I don’t plan on stopping. Not much of a spy anyways.”
Eric is 109 years old. If he were a Human I guess he would be between 30 and 40 :)
Good to know!
So... are you guys going to the warehouse? You don't have much time, but you can do some shopping along the way.

Khessa is ready to go to the warehouse…she should already have everything she needs.
