You're familiar with the Squid class. Of similar construction to the Hammerhead but a little lighter, it would have much the same AC and damage threshold, but fewer HP than your ship (at least, before an asteroid tore a hole in yours). It's a little slower, making 30ft to your 35ft at flying speed. They can carry less cargo, but unlike the Hammerhead they can actually set down on solid ground without tipping over.
[Princess, how literally do you interpret "maintain the same distance don't let them get ahead"? Try to stay at exactly the 50ft range, or e.g. try to gain some distance ahead of them?]
(apologies I should have been more specific with my words.)
[Oh not at all, I was mostly just seeing whether Princess would take a chance to be very mildly insubordinate :) ]
[Squid ship Attack phase:]
The Squid ship fires both ballistae, one targeting your hull and the other your own ballista. Meanwhile the remaining two githyanki on the deck take crossbow shots at the crewmates manning your ballista.
[Ballista vs Hammerhead: 10 for 18 piercing damage Ballista vs Ballista: 15 for 21 piercing damage Light crossbow vs Crewmate 1: 4 for 4 piercing damage Light crossbow vs Crewmate 2: 10 for 5 piercing damage]
[Foundling Attack phase:]
Da'Kal taunts the enemy crew, while Icarus launches a barrage of magical energy at the captain [she's well within range; go ahead and make your damage rolls].
[Eris is up; will you help man the ballista or take a shot with your pistol?]
Seeing that her crewmates were handling things well on deck, Eris notices a blast that hits the ballista, causing her to run towards there and help the operators with the massive cannon.

Seria (Female Dragon-In-Disguise Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline)
As a second bolt pierces your hull, Eris runs over to help the injured crewmates (one minor flesh wound, one more serious) with the damaged but still operational ballista. [Eris, make a ballista attack, you can target the enemy ship's hull or one of its ballistae, +6 to hit with advantage, and your choice of 3d10 or a flat 16 damage.]
Meanwhile the three uninjured crewmates on deck take crossbow shots at the enemy's ballista crew. [Light crossbow vs Githyanki 1: 4 for 4 piercing damage Light crossbow vs Githyanki 2: 16 for 6 piercing damage Light crossbow vs Githyanki 4: 16 for 5 piercing damage]
Eris gave off a gawp as she sees the simulation crewmates heavily injured. This coupled with manning the ballista gave her flashbacks of her previous crew being stuck in similaar situation where she was the only one unharmed during a space skirmish. Nevethelss, she snaps back to her senses as her playful personality fades into a more aggressive, commander-like one.
"You three!" She aggressively shouts to the injured crewmates. "I don't have time to heal any of you during this sticky situation, so get up now! Help me aim this cannon at the other ship's weak spots! Fire at the other cannons first to weaken their only means of offense! Then once they're down, aim at the hull itself and go in for the kill!"
Ballista Attack: 20 Damage: 16 or 35 (crit)

You hear the githyanki captain lets out a grunt of pain as magical darts hit her, then call out for her crew to stay at the same range and keep firing on you with their ballistae.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With no further instructions from the captain Princess has an idea to try and be useful while flying. Using the ships voice projection system, Princess starts singing trying to intimidate the rival crew.

(Oi mates. That squid over there a ways is a bit sluggy (slower) but otherwise about the twin(same) of us. What do you think captain, orders?)
Da'Kal moves towards a rail closest to the squid ship *Come closer and suffer death and destruction*! she sends to the crew of the other ship.

Icarus moves next to Da’Kal and prepares for battle. (Let me know when the captain is within 120’ as I plan to launch Magic missiles.

(Princess will match speed and distance, to try and keep space between them roughly even on all axis’s.)
