One of the excitable kobolds nods at Seeker and disappears somewhere for a few minutes. When he returns, he is trailed by a new figure. The chattering kobolds fall silent and disperse a bit as the new figure comes into view, descending gracefully from the upper part of the cloister. She's an elderly human woman with weathered brown skin, white hair in tight braids, and kindly hazel eyes, dressed in a simple white robe. She smiles as she draws near and extends her arms in greeting.
"Welcome to Dragon's Rest," she says. "May Bahamut's guidance lead you to whatever you seek."

"Oh... Hi... thanks." (It seems being around all of these Kobolds is making him nervous)
"Our good captin informed us that we might find the shelter and solitude we each seek, here at the rest. But based on the hasty departure of of him and his crew due to fear of the comin' storms, and the not-so-lively welcoming committee we found on the beach, I think it best we ask why Bahamut's guidance brought us all here."
Thulewyn walks up next to Seeker, and sets him hammer on the ground and punts one foot on it to lean on his raised knee and lean in a bit.
"Aye, you wouldn't happen to have a need for assistance of those that washed up on your shores, to earn the hospitality we would ask for, would ya?"
His tone and resulting smirk indicate he is sure of the answer.

Medresh bows to the abbess. "Thank you, Abbess, if that is the correct term of address. As my new friend says, we were 'greeted' by some zombies on the beach. Does that happen often? Also, are there rooms for let anywhere about, or a town, even?"
"You may call me Runara," the woman says. "Thank you for taking care of the creatures on the beach. Dragon's Rest is a peaceful place, but of late there have been more storms and ships founder on the rocky shores. In fact, just recently a ship crashed on the northern side of the island. I'd be very grateful if you would examine the wreckage to check for survivors. Perhaps that is where these unfortunate souls you encountered originate."
"As for our hospitality, it is not necessary to earn it. All with peaceful intent are welcome here. There is no town, but we have rooms available. There is also a library you can make use of, a dining hall, and of course the main Temple of Bahamut at the top of the cloister."

(Would Tihli know of the name Runara?)
Oh, sure, I'd help investigate!.... wait... Library!?!?!?!? :D
Seeker bowed again, "Honored to meet you, Runara. I am Medresh, called Seeker by my brothers and sisters of the Kamdri Monastery. We," he paused here, looking at his companions, then hearing Abaddon's remarks, plunges on, "I will be happy to search the wreckage with Abaddon and whichever of my new companions wish to come. I thank you for your hospitality. Some of us, at least, would like to freshen up before heading back out. Could those who do be shown to whatever accommodations there are?"
"Wreckage and survivors? I heard that there were none, and that it was filled with treasure... Is there at least treasure still there? Any that you might be aware of?"
It is clear now why Orissa is here and what her focus might be currently.

"So much for going to see the peaks aye lass? Ha well I'm game for visiting a ship that doesn't move, plus I'm starting to get the impression we will have a better chance to find a stiff drink or 2 on that ship then we will at the 'dining hall'. "
Thulewyn picks his hammer back up and place it over his shoulder, ready to be on the move again.
"Of course, I will have my assistant Rix lead you to your quarters," says Runara. "And thank you very much for looking into the wreckage. As far as treasure goes, anything is possible. Whatever you find is yours to keep if there be no survivors. We have no need for treasure here. We live a very simple life as you can see."
Runara signals to one of the gathered kobolds, and she steps forward. She seems a bit more serious than some of the other kobolds.
"Greetings, I'm Rix," she says, bowing a little. "I'll show you to your rooms."
As you follow the kobold, she leads you back the way you came a little ways until you come to the doors hewn into the cliffside. Inside are rooms, very simple and plain, but they include a bed with comfortable looking blankets and a washstand and basin for cleaning. Rix explains that these are guest rooms and that most of the kobolds bunk in a dormitory-style room close by.

O-o-of course, Lady Runara! M-m-m-m-m-my mentor spoke highly of you!! T-t-t-thanks for your generosity!!! I came here to m-m-move in myself! (Rix comes to them, and Tihli is nervous around her. He hesitently follows her)
Abaddon nods to Rix. "Thank you for leading us here. I believe that I will find these accommodations..." *gaze drifts around the room, pausing in speech* "quite suitable."
Abaddon fingers a signet ring on his second finger, and his expression darkens. He enters the room closest to the door, and sits on the bed. "May I have this room?"
Regardless, Abaddon's eyes take on a golden sheen again as he searches for unholy presences within 60 feet of him; a security measure he takes whenever he lodges in a new place, ever since the time a barbed devil nearly killed him in a tavern.
If he gets the room, he'll take out a small whetstone and begin sharpening his blade while sitting on the bed. (a whetstone technically isn't part of Abaddon's starting equipment, but I thought it would be nice for Abaddon to have. If necessary, we could subtract 1 cp from his inventory)
Small request: Could I have one of my gp converted to sp?
Would it be okay if Abaddon did something with his signet ring and summoned his retainers? I was thinking he traces a rune and, all of a sudden, his retainers teleport here. I can't think of another way to introduce them now that they weren't on the boat. At least, it would be quite awkward.
On the topic of retainers, in the knight sidebar it mentions that one of my retainers could be a squire, who might fight beside me in battle. If we did do that, what stat block would the squire use?

((Maybe you sent them ahead of you to set up accommodation for you?))
The rooms remind Morseth of his room back at the crypt. The walls are even stone, albeit a different colour. Immediately he feels more comfortable here.
"Rix," he approaches the little kobold. "I've been told that there are a number of graves of dragons on the island. Can you tell me where the nearest one is? And is there a map which marks them out? I would be grateful for a copy if such a thing existed."
Orissa takes the first room in the line of rooms and closes the door behind her. She then begins to get herself comfortable, washing up once setting some of her stuff down. Anyone that lingers by the door can hear the sound of water splashing as she washes up.

*sure, that works.*
The door opens and a human you don't recognize pokes his head in and looks around. He wears scale male, and judging by his face he is shy, and a little bit scrawny. However, the way he carries his armor that he is a trained warrior. "Abaddon! You're here!"
Abaddon takes a look at him and a wide smile spreads across his face. "Ranole! It's so good to see you!" Abaddon gestures for him to come. "I presume Brinky and Flinky are here too?"
Right on cue, two kobolds enter and bow to Abaddon.
Medresh enters the room and immediately feels more at home. Having a cell to call his own is a familiarity he had not expected on this trip. Closing the door he sets his things down and washes his face. Then lies down to rest for an hour or so.
ooc: Seeker will need at least a short rest. He's down to 2 hit points.
