I’ve combed through everything and I believe I’ve compiled everything we’ve all separately learned into one paragraph. So for the sake of expediency, I propose that we assume everyone has shared what they know and I can put it all in one post. At which time we can discuss how to proceed. What does everyone think?
I as a player want to share what Zyzix has learned, but Zyzix himself wouldn’t share what he’s learned unless he saw a benefit from doing so. Sorry!

That’s okay, that’s why I asked. I think most of what you came across was also stated else where unless I’m mistaken. But I will double check and remove anything only learned by you

Loving the RP and group dynamic that’s developing here. Let’s try to have some agreement on where your characters are gonna go by this evening (you should feel free to split up if you want, that’s the beauty of pbp) so I know where to focus my prep. Please state where your character wants to go in bold at the bottom of your next post and how strongly they feel about it (for example, will go at all costs, alone if necessary, or will go somewhere else if the group agrees, etc).
Sounds like Cal, Haj, and Galdric want to head north to snowmantle to pursue he serpents, Zyzix wants to find Gort but is also interested in the serpents, as long as there are secrets to be found, Bell is into the anauroch ruins like a god archaeologist, and Taya and Horros are unopinionated.
Also I haven’t heard from Aridove in about a week. I’m going to give them one more day before converting her to an NPC. If that happens would you guys like to add a new player or keep things going with the current crew?
At the moment we seem to have a good balance between combat & magic, so I think we would be ok as we are, although a rogue may come in handy at some point.
Ok, sounding like Haj, Cal, Galdric, and Zyzix (as stated) want to pursue the Serpents north, Bell wants to go to anauroch (quickest way there is north then west unless you want to scale several mountains and pass through dangerous wilds).
Taya wants to go after Gort but will follow the group, and Horros is indifferent.
Sounds like we’re going north so that’s what I’ll prep and post this evening/tomorrow. Let me know if I’ve gotten anything wrong or anyone wants to split off.

If they go after the brigand, Zyzix wants to try to find one of the dead bandits, take their clothes for a disguise, and then memorize their face and looks if possible. Don’t know when or if I should make a narrative post about that. He thinks it would be a good idea to have a disguise on-hand. The clothes part doesn’t matter as much as at least getting a face to memorize.

Cal would be aligned in your thinking, salvage their uniforms, or what can pass for a uniform and having disguises is a good asset.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Let’s give it a couple more hours for anyone with objections to chime in. I’ll post a “journey begins” type scene and you guys can divide your response posts into what you do before you leave and what you do on the road for the first day.
ok just posted the narrative . You can do what you need to in town to prepare and leave. We are going to use the following travel rules, we can workshop these if we feel they’re too cumbersome:
Rations last one day. One day of travel will take you two hexes by road, one hex in plains and desert, 1/2 a hex in forest and hills, and 1/3 of a hex in mountains. We will do a survival check at the start of each day to determine whether you get lost and determine what you find, adding another day of travel. (journeying to shadowmantle will actually take 12 days, my mistake)
By the close of the next post window (tomorrow evening at the latest) Id like one of you to draw your planned route on the zoomed in map I provided. When you are ready to depart, end your post in the campaign thread with Ready to depart
That works for me!
Sounds like a plan!👍

I don’t think we need another player but if they brought something helpful to the table and can keep up with posting, I wouldn’t be opposed.

I'm probably laughing.

We hunt for scoundrels!
Not that I'm questioning our illustrious DM, but Desert is my 'favoured terrain' so we shouldn't get lost unless it's through a magical influence.
Unfortunately I can't say the same for anywhere else 🙃

Makes total sense, we just won’t roll if you’re in the desert.
