She began trying to haul her badly bruised and soaked self up the rope.....

Thea - it was 2 piercing damage, plus either 11 or 5 poison damage depending on whether you made the save. You didn't unfortunately, so...

The sharp pain in Thea's ankle is the least of her worries. A tingling feeling spreads quickly up her leg and within a few seconds her heart is racing, her skin clammy and damp, and the edges of her vision close in. She loses consciousness before she hits the floor. From across the river, Seri sees her collapse. William has disappeared under the log, and Kairouani has just swung across the waterfall before slamming into the wall.

The current tugs at William and accelerates him so quickly under the log that he is unable to grab hold of any of the multitude of protrusions that the fallen giant offers. He is entirely at the mercy of the river. It slams him into a rock, and then whips him over the edge and into freefall. His stomach lurches as gravity takes him plunging down with the millions of gallons of water. He manages to snatch a breath as he falls, then hits the boiling, roiling white water with a jarring impact. The raw, elemental force of the waterfall thrusts him downward and tumbles him over and over until he no longer has any idea which way is up. 

Kairouani, cursing and bruised, nevertheless scales the ravine wall as if she was born to it. In truth it is not a difficult climb. There are cracks, roots and vines a-plenty even before the anchored rope is factored in. She closes the distance between herself and the top, where the sea-elf stands.

Seri, perception check please, to see if you spotted William going over the waterfall. 

Kairouani perception as well, but with disadvantage as you were otherwise occupied.

Seri - your turn.

Thea falls to the ground, crying out as the venom courses through her body. She is on death saves. 

Seri's jaw drops open in shock and alarm as the events transpire, almost too quick to track.  William in the water, perilously close to the waterfall at first, despite Seri's Telekinetic Shove, and then over, Kairouani also over the falls with the other end of the rope, Thea struck down by... something.  A brown snake?  Perhaps venomous.  This is what comes of venturing so far from Trondro's domain!

Reflexively and with scarcely a thought, the sea elf calls on the ocean god's favor in a quick incantation.  Thea suddenly wakes on the riverbank, feeling as if a cold, bracing shore-breaker wave has just smashed over her, shocking the young Aseri woman back to sensibility and alertness.

Bonus Action:  Seri casts Healing Word (range 60') on Thea, healing 8 hp

Action:  Taking a deep breath, Seri leans into her connection to Trondro, asking the lord of the wild deeps for guidance as she moves gracefully 30' across the stones and fallen tree to put herself in a better position to assist William and Kairouani if she can locate them.

Seri did indeed see the dark shape of William in the water slipping over the edge and plunging down into the ravine. Kairouani, on the other hand, is too focussed on climbing back up the cliff on the southern bank to see it.

Thea regains consciousness to see the snake still at bay, looking at her. She is unaware of Kairouani's impromptu circus act or William's fall over the edge and into the depths. From her prone position she can see only the snake between her and the river. After a moment though, she catches sight of Seri skipping her way gracefully across the rocks and the fallen tree towards her. As Thea is conscious again, she can now take her turn.

Thea stands, a more sensible and heroic person would help her friends, but alas, Thea is anything but. She draws her daggers and lunges at the snake

Main Action: attack with her dagger. 14 to hit, 8 piercing damage

Bonus Action: Two-weapon fighting attack with her second dagger. 19 to hit, 8 piercing damage

Movement: She stands up from prone (using 4 squares of movement, or 1/2 her speed).

Despite the lightning reactions of the snake, Thea is quicker. In a flash, she has the creature pinned to the jungle floor with her daggers, dead. It poses no further threat, though perhaps offers a nutritious meal if properly prepared.

I forgot to roll the damage for William as he bounced off the rocks and fell 60ft to the bottom of the waterfall so I'll do it now:

The violence of the water is astonishing. William can offer no resistance to it at all and is simply tossed around like so much flotsam. The pounding water from above pushes him downwards, counteracting the buoyancy of his air-filled lungs. After what seems like a lifetime, the violence lessens and he feels somewhat more able to influence his fate. A strong kick upwards (the strong light of the sun giving him a clue as to which way that was) sees him break the surface just as his lungs feel fit to burst. He sucks in a ragged gasp of life-giving air, and sees that he is now about 25ft downstream from the waterfall, in mid-stream, and being swept further with every passing second. The walls of the ravine are steep and plunge all the way down to the river, but as Kairouani has demonstrated, they are climbable thanks to the roots, vines, and ruggedness of the rock. 

Back to the top of the order for round 2. William, your turn.

William felt the panic set in after he breached the surface of the water. As he was dragged further down the river, he spotted some greens hanging over the water to his left. He made a snap decision and tried to swim to shore with all his might, hoping there was a branch or vine strong enough that he could grab onto.

On the map: William moves up 3 squares (no swimming speed means water is difficult terrain)

If due to the torrent this requires an athletics roll, I rolled on the campaign log: 17

William strikes out with a powerful, confident stroke. Unconstrained by the tangle of flotsam and rocks that had impaired him at the top of the fall, he now starts to make progress toward the north side of the river. The strong current sweeps him as far downstream as he progresses toward the bank, such that his path is diagonal. It takes most of the strength he has left, but he makes it. The feeling of relief when his hand closes around a looping vine and it holds firm is intense. At last he is secure and feels at least partially in control of his destiny. He is, however, still in a fast-flowing river with a 60ft cliff soaring above him. At least he has a moment to catch his breath and think.

Kairouani, your move. If you keep climbing up the cliff, Seri's telekinetic shove will enable you to reach the top this round.

After Kairouani it's Seri, then Thea.

Kairouani keeps climbing....

Seri tries to keep her eyes on William downstream, and the spot on the north bank that he has swum to.  Seeing Kairouani out of the corner of her eye, she closes her eyes for a moment, and another violent ocean gust blows up the ravine, boosting the Igneri woman up to her destination on the south bank.  Leaving the metallic object for later, Seri continues her connection to Trondro, beseeching his Guidance as she finishes crossing the river.

"I see William.  He has swum to the north bank below the waterfall, clinging to a vine.  We should lower another rope to him if we have another one."

Bonus Action:  Seri gives a Telekinetic Shove to Kairouani so she ends up on the south bank.  (DC 14 STR Save which Kairouani can fail on purpose).

Action:  Seri casts Guidance on herself.

Movement:  Seri finishes crossing the river and begins making her way along the north bank towards where William is.

As Thea watches william flow down the river, she exclaims "Why did everything have to go s...!" the rest of her sentence is drowned out as she takes the dash action to move across the river (Moving a max of 80ft, which looks like more than enough to cross)

Acrobatics check: 21 (glad I took Prof in this skill. who says acrobatics is useless?)

Kairouani scrambles back onto ground level, having been accelerated up the final part of her climb by the a similar strangely solid gust of air to that which earlier pushed William. As she emerges onto the forest floor, Thea arrives. She, having dispatched the snake, skipped back across the tree and rocks, again as if it were nothing more challenging than a stroll in the park.

Seri is now on the northern bank, whilst William is downstream but secure.

We are now out of initiative order, so feel free to continue as you wish.

Ok, so now that Kaiouani, Seri, and Thea are all on the north bank *or that was my intention* we can decide what to do about our endangered companion. 

"Kairouani, do you have another rope we could tye this one to so we can lower it down to William?" Thea says as she jogs through the jungle towards where William is.

Seri looks at Thea, puzzled.  The two of them are on the north bank, yes, but Kairouani is back on the south bank.

"No, Kairouani is still on the south bank, there."  The sea elf points.  "She had to climb back there after going down the falls because the top of the rope she was clinging to is tied to a tree there.  She will have to cross once more and I am too far to grant her the Ocean Lord's guidance."

Still concentrating on Guidance on herself, and knowing the group would have to wait for Kairouani to cross over once more before having enough (60') rope to lower to William, Seri shouts some encouragement instead.  "Your steps are steady, Elder Sister.  You can make it!"

During this time, Seri takes the time to use her invisible Telekinetic Mage Hand (range 30') to explore he area where the metallic object is lodged.  Does it seem to be of a size and in a position where Seri could pick it up with the Mage Hand?

"Oh, yeah. She is, You think it's possible there was something in that rum I drank last night?" Thea shakes her head and pulls out the bottle, which was in her pack. She examines the ;able and then opens it and sniffs, trying to detect anything bad. 

Seri, roll Arcana please, to see whether your Mage Hand is deft enough to pick up the object from the riverbed between the rocks.

Thea, roll Perception.

Thea is now above William, about 65ft downstream from Seri. Kairouani is still on the south bank tied to a tree (with about 40ft slack).
