OOC: I rolled a 19 Perception check and it was set to Self... And my public one is a 3... excuse me while I cry. And I'm posting all of these because I'm still new and don't know what you want to use.
Any character with a passive Wisdom (perception) score of 11 or higher notices an ornate dagger in a gilded sheath tucked under Tulgi’s shirt. You would remember that receipt had a dagger on it. (Everyone has a passive perception of at 11, so you all notice the dagger.)

“I came to Palebank Village a few years back from Shadycreek Run with her sister, Hulil. We both work for the Uttolot family. The Uttolots sent the us and a few others to the village to keep an eye on treasures coming back from Eiselcross—with the intent of stealing them. When such artifacts come through the small settlement, they are often unusual goods that treasure hunters are trying to keep away from Uthodurn or the Dwendalian Empire. When Urgon Wenth returned to Palebank Village with treasures from Eiselcross, I saw my chance. I waited for Urgon to sell his finds to Pelc’s Curiosities, then stole them all. I gave most of Urgon’s relics to Hulil, but kept one for myself—an ornate dagger. Hulil has the other items in a site north of the village known as Croaker Cave. I was the one who searched Urgon’s cabin, convinced that the dead dwarf must have had magic or other secrets stored away there.”
(OOC: Also, Boil would remember from Elro’s initial monologue that the village’s priests of Moradin and Corellon used every spell they could muster to attempt to heal Urgon, but nothing they tried could stop the bizarre malady.)

Jahn listens to the dwarf intently. Once she stops, they'll start, "So what I'm absorbing here is that Eiselcross is the place to go for a cure, though first we should find your sister who is in possible possession of whatever caused this affliction. Though, I'll ask, if myself and my allies head up to Croaker Cave, we will be attacked, won't we?"
Agreeing with Jahn, Doter tells Tulgi, "Aye, whatever you've got appears to be outside the bounds of my understanding of natural afflictions, if it is indeed natural at all. I think it'd be wise to simply stay put and try to get warm. As for us, danger or not, it seems like Croaker Cave is the next stop..."
He pauses, having added up the past few mentions of Eiselcross to mean somewhere unwelcoming and of a considerable distance away.
"...Followed shortly thereafter by Eiselcross should that bear no fruit."
Jahn will approach the door and wait for the others to have their questioning. They'd give a last statement, "Given your affliction I would consider that punishment enough for your thievery. I'd keep that blade, remember it as the last thing you'll steal, else you might end up in a worse fate. If you survive this." Jahn would wait outside the cabin for the others to head to the cave.
Ulysse stands in the doorway about to leave, clearly dreading stepping back into the cold. He puts his coat back on and fires up another Produce Flame to start rolling through his fingers. "One more thing, how did you rob thiss, antique sshop? Oh and maybe sstand in a cook pot. If you turn to ice and melt in thiss nice climate you have, well we hate to try and collect what run through the floor boardss."
"...how did you rob zis, antique shop? Oh and maybe stand in a cook pot. If you turn to ice and melt in zis nice climate you have, well we hate to try and collect what run through the floor boards."
"That's a good question and point, Boisseau. In my excitement I forgot about the shop. The keeper there could've been exposed to whatever Tulgi and Urgon have. If nothing else, we ought to check on them and maybe see if they remember anything specific about the other stolen goods."
Doter will wait for Tulgi to answer Boisseau's question, then follow Jahn outside and mention visiting the shop on the way to Croaker Cave.

She grudgingly hands over the dagger.

Tulgi: “I dunno, I just robbed it! You know, I waited until night, smashed one of the front windows, and took the stuff that Urgon sold to the shop.”

“Oooohh that dagger gots glowy’s!” Boil says. “Maybe a magic stabby! Probably sell for lots o’ gold.”
Occ: yeah I know that healing doesn’t do anything, I was late to the introduction so I was playing as if Boil never heard the monologue. I was trying not to meta game.
"Bassed on the condition of 2 of its lasst 3 ownerss, the sshop owner may not be in any hurry to have it back!" Ulysse doesn't volunteer to hold the dagger in fear it plays a part in the curse they are chasing

Boil would sense a faint aura of transmutation coming from the dagger.
With that persuasion check, Tulgi starts talking:

They tilt their head, eyeing the weakened dwarf.
Tulgi: “Yes, you will be attacked. And I’m not leaving this cabin—it’s too cold outside!”

(You might also want to pay a visit to Pelc’s Curiosities, the antique shop, especially since it’s on the way to croaker cave…)
