Though Ketangu is not as fleshy as his companions, he does recognize the value of a life and find such cruelty and madness disturbing. He thought the man to be a threat only to see him killed. 

He stands firm ready for combat and for now readies dodge in the event of combat. The arcane runes are beyond what he has learned so far and it seems Khessa has found a way to destroy them. So now he waits to see what unfolds next. 

As the golem threateningly advances, Jack nimbly dances out of the way, his grin and words cheeky and taunting. At the words of the warlock, the champion lets out a deep-throated growl, "Curiosity killed the cat, or in this case, you." the Champion suddenly lunges, it's long, clawed arm shooting out for the human. Luckily, Jack dodges out of the way, his feet backpedaling as he lets out a small breath. That was too close.

"But, I think I will be leaving this chamber. And this dirty cave. Unless you plan on somehow stopping me." The abomination continues to stalk around, feinting and lunging threateningly, its fanged maw curling into a threatening smile.

Khessa must realize that she was wrong - working on the runes now seems perfectly useless. Mr Stiched remains undisturbed - and, what's worse, it seems ready to leave.

"Jack!" the blonde arcane warrior points to the domed ceiling rising 20' above their heads, remembering that her friend is able to fly "A little bird is calling you from up there; it says you'll be safe from Mr Stiched and you can blast it onto nothingness with impunity! Go up, I'll keep Mr Stiched here to play with us!"

And, with that, the tall adventuress interposes herself between the monster and the exit, keeping her Greatsword ready to intercept it's attacks. "Everyone else feel also free to hit it from range, of course! Plenty of room behind me" she adds.

The champion chuckles "How very foolish. Telling me your strategy of how you plan to defeat me. If you want to battle, then so be IT!" the Champion lunges forward, ready to kill. It's clawed arms stretched out, eyes burning with the hatred of the damned and doomed.

Khessa takes her place as described, preventing the monster to exit the room and just defending from it's attacks, allowing the others to kill it from range, from behind her.

"Well, Mr Stiched," the blonde arcane warrior shrugs in her reply "since you are, on the contrary, such a smart opponent, let's see what you can do to counter what we planned".

The young dark-haired man peeks out from behind the tall blonde arcane warrior with a grin, placing his hex on the abomination before unleashing a greenish beam of eldritch crackling force towards it.

He then steps back into the tunnel to make room for others to fire at the fleshy champion. 

Ketangu moves forward and attacks the abomination

Ketangu then moves back behind Khessa without provoking opportunity due to Mobile Feat. 

OOC: Oh yeah, this is the final fight of this adventure, so feel free to go all out.

Kit watches Jack's interactions with a slight but amused smile. She admires courage and audacity and he certainly has it in spades.

She initially intends to help Khessa block the doorway but, once Ketangu charges in, she feels compelled to join the fray. Rushing forward she slashes at the creature with her longsword and hopes for the best.

(Attack: 7 Damage: 11)

Erven, standing in the dark, traces the outline of the abomination’s foul head, magically marking him for his attack.  In his head, Erven says “Handle the abomination, then the necromancer…” to himself.  

 Long bow shot 1 : 21 to hit, for 10 points of damage against the undead abomination.  

Long bow shot 2 : 17 to hit, for 7 points of piercing damage, with an additional 2 points of damage due to his dread ambusher skill this first round.  

Hunter’s mark damage : 4 damage (Bonus action)

Movement : sticks to the shadows…

As Khessa assumes a defensive stance, ready to keep the abomination from fleeing, Ketangu and Kit rush forward, weapons at the ready. Ketangu is a whirlwind as he focuses all his training on the abomination, raining down a hail of spear and tentacle blows which leave the abomination reeling. Kit, ready to defend her friends, swings her blade with all her might, striking a glancing blow against the golem's shoulder which sends it stumbling back. Clearly, it is not as powerful as it says it is.

Jack and Erven fire off projectiles side by side, Erven's focusing his attention on the abomination, magically marking it for death as he sends two deadly arrows from out of the darkness, which strike the golem, dealing vicious wounds. Jack, bolstered by his companions success, sends a beam of crackling eldritch energy, the curse he had placed on the abomination flaring as it enhances the deadly bolt of magic.

And Twombley, just to make sure you know, the necromancer guy is capital D dead. No need to worry about him.

Current Boss Status: Party has dealt 72 damage. Status effects are Jack's Hex and Erven's Hunter's Mark. Oberon, just as a question, which ability score did you decide to affect with your Hex?

(Ah, yes, sorry, let's go with strength, making it a weakling before it is destroyed :-)

Mud raises his hands, swirling winds forming around him as lightning crackles in his eyes. He channels this power, the aura of energy around him growing, until he unleashes it in a tempestuous surge, a bolt of lightning shooting from his palm, crackling relentlessly as the electricity bores into the champion

Mud casts Witch Bolt at first level

Tabitha, riding atop Lance, charges forward, swinging her mace with all her might as Lance's vicious jaws gnash at the champion.

Kevori draws an arrow from her quiver, positioning herself behind the defensive wall that is Khessa. Her fingers trembling, she draws back the projectile and let's loose, aiming to destory.

Champion's Turn!

The Champion, weakened by Jack's magic, lurches forward, swinging its powerful claws at Khessa and Kit, some of the most obvious and in reach threats.

The Champion makes 2 Claw Attacks

Champions' Claw Attack #1 VS. Khessa: 18 to hit. Hit: 10 Slashing damage and Khessa's speed is reduced by 10ft.

Champions' Claw Attack #2 VS. Kit: 10 to hit. Hit: 10 Slashing damage and Kit's speed is reduced by 10ft.

As the Champion makes its assault, its eyes glow, and Jack finds himself under a different sort of attack than his companions: one of a spiritual kind. The forces of death conjured by the Champion assault the soul of Jack, attacking his very life essence.

Jack must make a DC 14 CON save. On a fail, he takes 5 Necrotic damage and the Champion regains HP = 1/2 the damage dealt. On a success, he takes half damage and the Champion regains no HP.

The he retreats back to behind Khessa without provoking opportunity attack.

If fixing Champion's roll and it hits an AC < 17:

Khessa easily parries the monster's massive arm with her Greatsword, tilting the heavy blade to deflect it.

If either not fixing Champion's roll or it hits an AC >= 17 anyway:

Khessa intones esoteric syllables as her left hand quickly releases from the hilt of the Greatsword to perform an elegant gesture with her fingers... and the massive arm of the monster, which was about to break through our heroine's ribs, is stopped with a dull thud by an invisible - and above all impenetrable barrier.

Then:

The blonde arcane warrior sees Mr Stiched getting hit repeatedly and decides to help take him down as quickly as possible. After all, 'Champion' as it is called, it still shouldn't be able to resist such a brutal onslaught for much longer...

So the tall adventuress, inspired by the prowess of her firends, spins her Greatsword in a wide circle, bringing it down toward the target's collarbone and sternum, then spinning on her heels to deliver a second slash at waist level.
