Ven skewers the poor creature killing it with the first attack.
Endo of the encounter.
The noble crawls out from under the wagon top with the 3 guards. "Bless you folks for helping out there. I wasn't sure we'd hold out with all them there. They weren't pressing the attack thankfully. 4 on 8 well 3 on 8 really. My guards did fantastic though. I could use a couple fresh horses if there are any to buy. I have coins. If no horses, then perhaps a ride to the next hostelry while my guards stay here to guard my wares."

Dervish searches the dead enemies for anything of value. Piotr approaches the noble and 3 guards - "Happy to help. Any of you injured? Where are you heading to and what are you transporting?"
Dervish separates the valuables so each person can receive 100gp value. He requests both potions of pugilism. Piotr comes over to get his share and to request the potion of invisibility and of gaseous form.
The imp sill invisible goes up the the wagon and turns into a spider and craws into wagon to see what they were carrying. The question everyone wants to know -what’s your cargo…
Before the merchant leaves (or we leave him) I ask if by chance he would consider giving us a reward for saving him (20 persuasion)
The noble is very happy that you saved him and his guards for certain death.
"I have 6 special tasty bites. These bites are similar to a Resistance spell/potion but better. I have these specially blended, and their magical properties don't interact with other consumables. Each piece has 3 uses and provides resistance to fire, acid, lightning, cold and poison damage for 1 hr, 1 bloodstone 50gp gem each. My eternal gratitude for saving us too. You can dine with us tonight and I have a nice elven wine, dwarven ale or a fine honey mead with a roasted venison shoulder to enjoy."
Ohh, dwarven ale, that would be excellent." Dervish seems more pleased with the drink opportunity than the tasty bite and bloodstone, although he happily takes those rewards. Piort, being a bit more formal, declines the drink but happily joins for the meal and the rewards.
Ven nods to the noble, "Thanks you kind sir. We were just doing our part to ensure the safety of our caravan. Once we saw you were in trouble under the wagon dome we jumped into action to help out. Thank you for the nice offerings. A good meal sounds good after the day like today."
Jebar chimes in too, "Well, I'll be. Don't that beat all. I bet I could whip up something like that as my skills get better kind sir. Thank you. A good meal sounds good out here and drink. Although, I won't overindulge being on duty."

That evening you have a nice meal with the Noble. Everyone pitched in to help get the wagon sorted. In the morning it'll be easy to hitch up to the horses purchased from the caravan.
The evening food is scrumptious, and the beverages were soooooooo refreshing. While the beverages flowed plentiful no one over indulged with other issues still on everyone's minds about the cultist. You take turns resting and everyone is refreshed when dawn breaks. A quick breakfast is had along with usual breaks to the bushes.
The morning is uneventful and at late morning Pax give the team a briefing. ---PM sent

“My imp provides the below info. I also had him search both sides of road for anything living and he did not find anything. “
Up ahead 4 minutes ahead the caravan rounds a bend in the road, the imp relays to Pax
a human head can be seen sitting in the middle of the road a hundred yards ahead. From a distance, Pax's is able to recognize that the head is actually a person buried up to the neck, and he is unconscious but still alive. That fact is obvious to anyone who approaches within 10 yards, as is the word “Oathbreaker” painted on his forehead.
The buried human is in bad shape from exposure and dehydration.
Jeybar asks, "How do we want to do this. It smells like a possible set up. It could just be some punishment too. I'd say we need to go in and dig em up. That's going to take some time. We also need to figure out who they are and why this was done. Let's get a plan and move quickly or make a plan on the move to get the man."
