Reaching across to take the vial, Virt grimaces somewhat as he drinks some of the still warm concoction. Those of you who likewise sip the bright yellow potion notice the thick, viscous texture and acrid, sour taste. However, as the five of you and your two canine passengers approach the tangle of interwined thorny vines and sickly sweet smelling flowers that wall of much of the clearing, you are relieved to notice that the lengths of vine no longer seek to entrap or strangle you, and nor do the pretty but deadly flowers puff their acidic fumes in your direction. Instead your troupe is able to navigate the mass of previously aggressive vegetation with relative ease and within mere minutes you have passeed beyond into the relatively passable woods to the East. After your recent ordeals, retracing your steps through the dark, dense wood to the edge of the trees and rough hillock beyond does not prove greatly difficult, and within an hour you find yourselves descending from the rocky copse dotted heights using the rough goat track that cuts across rolling hills towards the larger dirt road running South-North towards the town of Rumbottom.
Following the River Road beneath the increasingly cloudy mid-afternoon sky for almost another hour towards your port town destination, you soon crest a slight rise from which you can make out the small stone bridge several hundred feet away that crosses over Saltware River and runs up to the still distant palisade wall and the Warden guarded Southgate that marks the harbour side commmunity's boundary in this direction. To the East you see the scrublands and wild fields running flat for as far as your eyes can see, broken only by a single distant hill notable for its proximity and vantage overlooking the town, while the Southern part of Rumbottom Harbour lies less than a mile to your West. As you are still elevated somewhat above the lower level of Rumbottom itself, you can see the scattered plumes of smoke rising from the odd chimney across the modest brewery town, indicating hearths burning despite the Summer month, possibly as a result of the chill winds rising.
[OOC] PCs may make perception checks DC15 to read the spoiler below:
'Traffic is light on the road heading to and from town, though you see a small cart pilled with hay, pulled by two oxen led by a single farmer moving South in your direction over the crudely made bridge. To the West, gulls circle over the rocky shore and Southern waters of Rumbottom harbour, a few fishing dinghies and larger boats visible in the shallows and deeper waters beyond.'
