'Having moved about in preperation for whatever is happening now, you all hear a horrible tearing sound as the rippling hide of the dead steed's stomach bursts open to birth a horde of tiny feyspiders. As the hundreds of coin sized blue-grey spiders swarm from the horse's innards and begin to disperse in a growing mass around it, however, a larger buckler-sized arachnid emerges from the gruesome cavity. Where the feyspiders had pronounced jaws and six icy blue eyes, this creature has smaller, needle-like fangs and eight glowing white orbs. Likwise, its thorax is leaner, more defined than the spiders you just fought, with fine almost script-like blue lines upon its arachnid form.
As it scuttles from the corpse of its previous host, the nearby host of tiny spiders hesitates.. and then regathers around the larger arachnid in a distinctly protective fashion, like tiny insectile soldiers assembling in a defensive formation.'

You will find nothing but DEATH here!

[OOC] Everyone needs to make a wisdom save (DC 11). Those who fail are overcome by the irrational dread of their own impending doom and can ONLY flee during their next turn (using the dash action) unthinkingly as far as they can from the Infant Spiderfey. You must roll a d6 - on a 5&6 you flee to the West towards the cave's exit, on a 3&4 you flee SouthEast into the webchocked tunnel there and on a 1&2 you flee East into that equally webpacked tunnel. Regardless of which direction you flee, the compulsion ends at the end of your turn.
If you roll 1-4, you are in danger of being caught in the webs and must make a dexterity save (DC 11) or become grappled and restrained. If you succeed on the dexterity saving throw, you merely finish your turn as far from the Infant Spiderfey as you can. If you fail your dexterity save, in order to break free, the grapple can be challenged with a strength or athletics check at the end of your next turn (DC 13).

The whispering crowds the bugbear's mind as the nasty little spider crawls onto the ceiling, and images of being trapped, sucked dry, hanging helpless, laced with pain... it is too much for the bugbear, already in shock, drained and spent. He ROARS and bursts from his hiding place, pushing his way past his new friends, fleeing further into the cave, to the East. He shreds the webs as he reaches them, his maul banging along on the ground behind him, chain still wrapped around his hairy arm.

Seeing the spider start to climb up the wall, Vaken readies his ice knife spell but before he can cast it his mind is flooded with images designed to stoke his fears and drown out all reason and logic. "Ahh, spiders!" he yells in his gravely, baritone voice.
Terrified, the large goliath breaks into a run away from the spiders. With in a few steps he's surrounded by webbing trying to slow him, but this serves to intensify his fear and he rips through the webbing.
'Despite the fearful sight, Kay's repetition of her own oath to Naskeen holds her steadfast. Her eyes continue to track the spiderfey and she waits for the right moment to fling her dagger at it.' "Hold steadfast friends!"

'Somehow unshaken by these otherworldly arachnids, Virt calmly loads his crossbow, lines up the tip of the bolt with the injured and somewhat slowed creature and fires with precision, the bolt flying unerringly into the newborn creature's head. The pierced spiderfey simple falls from the ceiling dead, to land limply near the body of the horse that it had incubated within. As the dead spiderfey's limbs twitch for the last time, the disconerting mind-whispers cease and fade.
At the larger creature's death, the swarm of tiny fey spiders pauses and then disperses into a hundred indivudally harmless insects, seeming to lose all of the focus and cognition that the swarm had possessed only a moment before. Your own belabored breathing and the scurrying of a thousand tiny legs across the cavern's hard, cold stone are the only sounds to be heard.'
[OOC] With the Infant Spiderfey's death, the Fey Spider Swarm disperses. All fear effects caused by the spiderfey also fade. We are now out of combat and intiative order.
