He shuffles into the light, to step on a few of the little spiders as they scurry away. Straightening his shoulders, he says nobody in particular in his low growl, "Some soul tell me again, why we canna jus' leave now? You seek a book? Spider venom? A third chance at cheatin' Death?"

Vaken accepts Virt's hand and stands up with a despondent look on his face. "Thank you, sir. I apologize for running. It was... I was..."Vaken sighs and drops his gaze to the floor."I was so afraid of such a small creature."
A'ro watches as the fey spiders begin to form a swarm and he can feel his heart racing, only doubled as his mind begins go. The sound of crashing waves and steel invading his mind as his hands turn red, his face contorted into a fearful gaze as he looks down. When he looks back up the fey spiders have disappeared only to be replaced by a group of men slitting another man's throat. 'No...No...' his breathing increases as he shouts"NOOO!"his feet beginning to take him west back to the entrance, hands gripping the side of is head, like a fearful child trying to find some semblance of balance.
As he gets away and the effects begin to fade he just shakes his head, taking a look around "Wha...what the **** was that?" comes from his lips as he turns to meet back up with his party "I'm sorry about that...I don't know what happened." he said picking up the staff he realized he had dropped as he began to run away. He looks at the spider as Virt asks his questions trying to think about how best to get the venom sacks, unfortunately spending most of your time on the sea though prevents this kind of knowledge from being acquired. He just looks at Virt"No idea was hoping maybe you or one of the more wild ones would know."

'She looks up at Worms,' "You're certain the book is in this place?" 'then she examines the cerulean spider blood on her blade as she turns it in her hand.'
'Looking up in the hope that their raven guide had followed them into the cavern, Kay sees that the hope was in vain. Despite being luminescent and quite viscous in consistency, the blood on her intact blade appears harmless enough.'
[OOC] On the knowledge to withdraw venom sacks, anyone proficient in survival or nature can make a DC 15, or medicineDC 10 check to know that it's NOT an easy thing to do, at least not to remove them intact.
If one of you is successful in the above check, they'll know that its something that someone skilled and knowledgable about animal anatomy might be able to do successfully (prof in either nature or medicine). The DC to actually remove each venom sack from a fey spider (whose internal anatomy is pretty standard for arachnids) is 10 for someone proficient, 15 for someone not proficient. A failed attempt means the sack is ruined. A failed attempt by 5 or more requires a con save DC 11. It takes 1 minute for each attempt.
To remove the Infanct Spiderfey's venom sack (same proficiencies required), is the same except that the DCs are 15 and 20, due to the creature's quite alien anatomy.
FYI - While the fear effect fades with the spiderfey's death, the poisoned condition lasts for 1 hour unless otherwise removed, so Kestrell is still poisoned.

Nature check: 14
After a few moments looking at the creature, Vaken stands and looks at the party,"I say we go with the bugbear's solution. Ifin he's willin to carry 'em, let him."
Walking over to Orlys, the goliath sticks out his hand,"Name's Vaken, by the way. No sure why I'm here. I'm just the ship's cook. Pleasure meeting ye all the same, though. Thanks for offering to carry the carcass."
'While the others discuss next steps for harvesting spider organs, Kay has wandered ahead. She rolls her shoulders back and cracks her neck. If she walks out of range of Kestrell's lantern, she'll light a torch of her own. Though the torchlight might give away her position visually, she still does her best to sneak through quietly, still keeping an eye out for the tome.'
Orlys listens to the others talk about venom sacs and procedures and the like, and finally pitches in, before anyone takes a knife to the spider, from outside the circle of party members where he is looming, “What about I carry the carcass? Ye jus deliver the whole thing. Then gettin the sacs out is none of yur problem any more.”
'Easily hoisting one of the oversized fey spiders up by a single blue/grey rod like leg despite the bugbear's weary condition, Orlys estimates that as far as weight alone goes, he could probably carry around three of the creatures in his current state before the ungainly mass of spider bodies and limbs would interfere with his movement.'
[OOC] Each of the feyspiders weighs approx. 50lbs, with Orlys' max carry weight being 450lbs (his str score of 15 x 15 x 2 for his powerful build feature) which the bugbear could normally carry without penalty since we are not using the variant encumbrance rule. The Infant Spiderfey only weighs 10lb.
HOWEVER, I do like to use an Exhaustion>Encumbrance rule, where for every level of exhaustion then carry weight is halved, so with one level of exhaustion, Orlys current carry weight is back to 225lbs.

Orlys grimaces as he lifts one, then another, then a third carcass. "Oof. So, ye'v bin sent ta get spider venom, an' a book, too? Ye'll not be telling' me this is some ship hazing scavenger hunt, I trust, though m' still grateful ye came along. Someone'll have ta get the littler 'un," he indicates the infant fey spider."Do we leave now? Th' wee lass is going th' wrong way..." he asks, watching Kay go deeper into the cave with his yellow eyes.
A'ro just shrugs at the suggestion "I mean she said intact...she never specified how intact it had to be. Can you lift two?" he asked looking at the bugbear. As he makes the suggestion the bugbear is already lifting three "Guess that answers my question - I guess let's keep looking for this book then and the mushrooms."
'Keeping to the chamber's plentiful shadows while still trying to utilise the scant light from Kestrell's lantern proves impossible, so Kay lights her own torch before making another sweep of the room (noting the now gore covered leather saddle and travel bags upon the mangled body of the horse), moving to examine both of the only possible points of egress from the room - the thick masses of webbing to the Southeast and the East of the cavern.
While the light cast by the flickering torch is dimmer than she would expect, much like the illumination given off by the navigator's lantern, hooded, having it in hand is still sufficient for the young rogue to notice that the webbing to the Southeast appears a little different to the rest that the group has encountered - it's strands wider, thicker and more silvery in hue than the brittle greymetal colouration of the fey spider's webs. Holding the torch light close to both masses of webbing, the diminutive sail monkey cannot make out the wall behind either barrier or tell how deep the entangling substance extends.'
[OOC] The obfuscating effect of the cavern affects Kay's torch reducing by half the range of the light cast - 10' of bright light and 10' of dim light.

'Kestrell easily cuts the cinching straps, pulling the ruined leather saddle and bloodsoaked saddle bag away from the equine corpse for easier examination. While it must have once been a very well-crafted leather saddle, including embedded bronze studs, embossed scroll work and the finely engraved initials T.S.E the leather has been heavily scored by something akin to long sword or pike blades, to say nothing of the gore stains and recently cut straps.
Pulling open the saddle bag, the bard is struck instantly by the awful stench of rotted rations. Throwing these aside with the moldy woolen blanket and a badly dented lantern, Kestrell also removes a 10 foot length of chain and two intact vails of lamp oil. About to throw the bag aside, the navigator's meticulous eye picks out a glint at the bottom of the bag, which he removes to discover is a small silver and seedpearl pin in the shape of a crescent moon. There is nothing further in the bag.'
