Tyrus takes a good long look at the man (i.e., What race is he? Does he have any identifying marks, etc.) and then goes and discreetly gets rid of the dead rats in the sack he's carrying.
After that is done, he will get one of the halflings to help him set up a table with some small mugs of ale (or large mugs with small amounts of ale) and the equivalent of bar snacks at the entrance to the tavern and begin trying to persuade people to come into the tavern through the offering of free samples.
While doing this, he will thoroughly deny any accusations made by the man across the street (presumably Frewn) and try to use his wit and storytelling skills to make the man's word sound ludicrous.

Tyrus Mountson: Lvl 3 Dwarvish Bard; Waterdeep Campaign (Dragon Heist) Nanoc the Younger: Semi-retired Lvl 2 Rogue / Level 2 Barbarian Human; The Knuckle, Mror Holds, Ebberon. The Honourable Jaden Fellan: Level 3 Human Eldritch Knight; Band of Sunswall
AKA: Phillip Berrie: writer, editor and academic thrillseeker—a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Tyrus looks at the man - a human man, rather low-class dress, and someone who wouldn't be remembered if you pass them on the street. However, when he goes in, the other three halflings enter behind Tyrus, as the one you ask to sort out the table throws the drinks his carrying onto the ground and begins to transform in front of your eyes into a half-man, half-rat. Turning around, the other three halflings also transform into half-rat creatures each snarling at Tyrus and surrounding him.
((OOC: For that reason, time for Tyrus and Mairi to be added into the initiative - you had to go and split the party))
[And just to be clear, it is our 3 halfling staff who are transforming into wererats. The description above seems to indicate there are 4 halflings transforming, which is a little confusing.]
[DM, I have also updated Tyrus's character sheet to properly show the dispersement of his equipment for him simply working in the tavern and to show the fact he has used 1 first level spell already today.]
(OOC: Good to know, But yeah - there are 3 staff - but there is a fourth wererat. Just to clear that bit up. The fourth didn't work for you, but was with the ones that did).
OOC: Did we ever confirm if Briga's crossbow shot hit the construct, or if the construct made or failed its save for Sara's Shatter Spell? I think next in the construct encounter it is the construct's turn, then Griff, Briga, Sara, then the construct again, and repeat.
(Thought I'd get Tyrus and Mairi into the initiative order first and cover both encounters at the same time - best way to do it play by post. Otherwise Tyrus and Mairi could be waiting weeks before their next post.)
(@Izraal1: Shouldn't be? As said before, there's been no big indicator for her to head to the fight. She roughly in the area, but not necessarily close enough to really participate yet.)

OOC: I think the DM has Mairi in the battle with the wererats, along with Tyrus, or at least wants her in initiative, while Griff, Briga and Sara are in initiative/combat with the construct elsewhere. DM, if this is incorrect, please advise.
Briga's heart hammers in her ears as she reloads her heavy crossbow, watches for the construct's next move. Her rage fueled adrenaline brings everything into focus, everything except for pain, which is dulled by the rage.
(OOC: @Mairi - The Wererats are at the bar... so... you can but that won't mean your left alone, especially because there are two entrances and two are coming towards Mairi...)
IC: As the halflings that were hired by the group change before Tyrus and Mairi's eyes, "Frewn pays more," one of them says and begins to attack.
(OOC: Gonna give Tyrus and Mairi a chance to get their moves in as they act before both the Nimblewright and the Wererats in Initiative. Two are headed towards Tyurs, Two towards the Bar where Mairi is).
"Ahhh... Don't know what this is all about. But, seeing as you'll probably just gonna run me down, I-I, uh...."She trails off groaning and muttering something along the lines of 'guess this is it'. When next she opens her eyes, it is with a look of determination, and her silvered rapier being drawn. "I don't know who you two are, but clearly you don't know me well. So, I'm giving this one chance to leave, for you both lie dead at my feet with noone to mourn or avenge you." She bluffs.
If that doesn't seem to take however, she nervously steps back... and then takes off running for the most populace area she can shouting for the guards.
[OOC: Is there any way to tell which of the 4 wererats isn't one of the halflings?]
Tyrus draws a small chip of stone from out of his component pouch, but he will attempt to Persuade the wererats out of attacking first.
"Keslo, Danika, Dasher, there be no need for this violence. If it be more money you be being after, send Frewn packing and we can get to talking," says Tyrus, putting on a bold front.
[OOC: Tyrus is hoping his continued assistance of the halflings around the tavern in the past might make them more amenable to being persuaded by him.
If the Persuasion attempt is allowed, here it is: 20
I assume that this is likely his action for this turn, but if not he will use the Dodge action.
For his move, he will attempt to put some sort of furniture (i.e., table, the bar, etc.) between himself and the nearest wererats.]
[OOC: DM, As they weren't described as carrying weapons before, I presume the wererats aren't carrying weapons now, is that true?]
As Mairi pulls out the silvered rapier, the wererats' confidence does go down a little. Tyrus then tries to convince the wererats to stand down. "How much?" one of them asks.
[OOC: For the one that isn't a halfling, they are all halflings, just one doesn't work for you, but does seem to be related to the others. And though they don't have any weapons, they do have claws].
==The Alleyway==
As the Nimblewright jumps out Briga is the first to take a shot at the nimblewright using her crossbow, however it dodges out of the way like a professional duelist.
Con Save for Shatter: 19
The Construct does seem to resist some of the impact of the shatter as it runs towards the one casting the spell 60 feet away and attempts to strike Saralyssa twice with it's rapier.
Nimblewright 1st Rapier Attack Roll vs Saralyssa: 19 Nimblewright 1st Rapier damage if hit: 8 Nimblewight 2nd Rapier Attack roll vs Saralyssa: 16 Nimblewright 2nd Rapier damage if hit: 10
Once it's slashed twice with it's rapier, it then stabs a third time with it's dagger towards Sara.
Nimblewright dagger Attac Roll vs Saralyss: 20 Nimblewright dagger damage if hit: 7
As it slashes and stabs, it moves lightly on it's feet, and gets ready to respond.
OOC: This thing is serious business, move 60 and still has three attacks. Would it have taken its third attack on Briga? Did the second KO Sara? Or all 3 on Sara and she has one death save failure?

Saralyssa goes down as the warrior construct sends a series of devistating strikes her way.
(The first two strikes take her down. Does the third hit her as well after she is down?)
