I just got an info drop from Grotex a day or so ago, and I am still pulling it apart and figuring out how the pieces all fit together. For now, this is what I will say:
The Lowlands game will probably be retitled: Shadows over the Lowlands, and will follow the adventures of 4-6 adventurers as they navigate a politically tense environment in the relatively technologically advanced region known as the Lowlands (described in Grotex's post as the relative Eberron of Talaveroth). The home of mighty dwarf clans, advanced gnome enclaves, and some of the most important cultural influencers in all of Talaveroth, what transpires in the Lowlands is certain to have echoing effects on other parts of the world. Yet, as mentioned, the situation is tense. I will give more details later, but in terms of general feel, think of games like Dishonored - gritty steam (or in this case, Da vinci)- punk cityscapes, intrigue and assassination, plots and betrayals, spies, cloaks, and a lot of daggers.
I tend to run games that try to find a balance between moments of beauty or triumph alongside deeply grimdark themes, NPC's, and worldbuilding. I am told by my players-in-the-flesh that my games are fun, but often difficult, as they, for some odd reason, seem to think that I am always 1-5 steps ahead of them, planning, plotting, laying threads to be pulled that may never see the light of day. This game will be no different, and with the added advantage of PBP being a slower pace, one can expect exponentially more complex plots to fathom than I have previously attempted. You have been warned...
With that said, though, and with Grotex's announcement, I would say that I am up to a "soft recruitment" level, where I am happy to take PM's with character ideas and so on, but will not be ready to launch the game for several more weeks. I am a college student, and I will sadly be rather busy in the next two or so weeks, after which my time will be blissfully open for the better part of a month over the holidays.
More information will be forthcoming, hopefully sooner rather than later...
What's your accepted material for character generation? UA allowed? What about homebrew?
I have this homebrew subclass that I've really been wanting to playtest but the chance has seemed to allude me. I created it originally for my players (irl game) to give them a subclass that was more vanilla for the Sorcerer, as I felt that, while the currently released subclasses are great, there just doesn't seem to be a subclass that just does more sorcerer stuff rather than "neat and tricky" sorcerer stuff. See link below for Homebrew.
I mean, with this soft opening, just send me character concepts. I'll sort through things later tonight after thanksgiving festivities. UA is allowed, but with certain small tweaks (dragonmarks will need to be changed, so on.)

Happy Thanksgiving, Knights! Here's some food for thought, for any aspiring Players, or Talaveroth DM. A few interesting/campaign-worthy locations in my World you could consider, or just a mini "Talaveroth Wiki" if you will.
1) the Westwoods:
Home to the Wood Elves of the Western Courts (Edeleth's Homelands), and Forest Gnomes of the Burrows (Peshley's Homeland). They are the "Lungs" of Talaveroth, and the recent Burning of the Great Pixie Tree by the Gnoll Warband known as the Screaming Hunters has caused many issues, environmental, social and magical...
2) The City States of Kalverak:
North of the Lowlands, along the Western Coast of Talaveroth, lie the City-States of Kalverak, a loose Federation of independent Cities (think Ancient Greece/Rome type society). The most dominant City-State in Kalverak is Dastarus (Uther's Homeland), ruled by the Half-Orc Gladiator King Pelios, a former Gladiator who defended the City against the Black Dragon Clan, when they recently attacked from the nearby Dawn River Delta Swamp, an extremely dangerous, yet strategic and economically important location for Trade across the Ocean. Pelios's Gladiator-mercenaries are now a vital part of the Alliance, but the relations between the City-States remain fragile, threatening to escalate into Civil War anytime...
3) Mastandia
From the Nâr Barâk Mountains to the East, to Kalverak and the Lowlands to the West, proudly stands the huge landmass that is the Kingdom of Mastandia. Built upon the ruins of Meryn and Norian's fabled Empire from the 1st Age, the Kingdom is the largest and most powerful Nation in the Alliance. Mastandian military have kept Talaveroth's Foes at bay in the South for centuries, lead by Knights sworn to protect the Land and its People in the name of Meryn (think of Medieval Europe, around the 13th Century or so). To the North of the Kingdom lies the City of St Elora (Saerrira's Homeland), built at the base of the Silver Mountain, the tallest Mountain in the World. The Silver Dragon Clan guards the Mountain, which is rumored to be a passage to the Celestial Realms. Their cooperation with the Mastandian King and the Church of Meryn is the Central Pillar of the Alliance.
4) The Primordial Forest
For Centuries, the High Elves of the Primordial Forest had completely shut out their Lands from the rest of Talaveroth. Most thought is was out of isolationist elitism, but the truth is, the High Elf King and his Mages had been protecting the rest of the World against one of the most powerful Foes Talaveroth had seen in a long time: the Arch Witch. United against her, the High Elves were able to hold her locked inside the Forest, which was magically sealed. But the seal was broken, and soon the Arch Witch launched a War on Talaveroth, joining Forces with the chromatic Dragon Clans. She was eventually stopped at the Floating Isles, a magically suspended archipelago of Islands on which the High Elf Capital City was built in the First Age.
Right now, these are the DMs team soundtracks, that have inspired me the most when working on their private Threads over the past couple of weeks......
Edeleth Treesong (Aldalire) WoodElf Druid lvl 8 Talaveroth Sub 2 Last Tree StandingTabaxi Ranger, Chef and Hoardsperson lvl 5, Company of the Dragon Team 1 Choir Kenku Cleric, Tempest Domain, lvl 11, Descent Into Avernus Test Drive Poinki Goblin Paladin, Redemption, lvl 5, Tales from Talaveroth Lyrika Nyx Satyr Bard lvl 1, The Six Kingdoms of Talia
So, as all the storylines are coming to fruition, and we approach that time of the year, I figured I would throw a "Talaveroth Christmas special".
I'm actually doing one in the Flesh with my friends, for my Starfinder Homebrew Campaign. As their Characters save Space Santa Claus from Darth Krampus, and battle his Armada with their Spaceship, we will be unboxing miniatures of their Characters and Ship, and other goodies that I bought for them, because I'm feeling festive this year. I also included coupons for free natural 20's, magic items, "Hand of God", followers, and such that they will unlock throughout the special scenario that I've written for them. It's going to be awesome, I went full "Oprah" on them lol.
Sooooo, I figured I would throw you folks in the "Digital D&D Underground" something similar....stay tuned....
Been speaking to Jab about the shadows over the lowlands and just wanted to post on here saying hello to everyone and I’ve been speed reading the threads trying to bring myself up to speed

Awesome! It seems like you have nailed down the essence of that part of the World. This should be good. Take all the time you need

More "Wiki" coming soon
You should open a thread calld “Talavorth wiki” 😋
Wiki was fun read!
Right now, these are the DMs team soundtracks, that have inspired me the most when working on their private Threads over the past couple of weeks.

Team3:

Team Evil:

This is something I would pick for Team 1.
Oh, dear. I have a bad feeling about this.... O_o
Edeleth Treesong (Aldalire) Wood Elf Druid lvl 8 Talaveroth Sub 2
Last Tree Standing Tabaxi Ranger, Chef and Hoardsperson lvl 5, Company of the Dragon Team 1
Choir Kenku Cleric, Tempest Domain, lvl 11, Descent Into Avernus Test Drive
Poinki Goblin Paladin, Redemption, lvl 5, Tales from Talaveroth
Lyrika Nyx Satyr Bard lvl 1, The Six Kingdoms of Talia
My reaction to the Team evil theme:
So, as all the storylines are coming to fruition, and we approach that time of the year, I figured I would throw a "Talaveroth Christmas special".
