Maximus makes notes as he walks down the corridor. "Anyway to get your imp on the other side of the door without opening it? Otherwise I guess we check it again to see if it is locked or trapped. Then someone gets the honor of opening the door first."
Stigr moves up to the door and focuses for a moment to send his imp briefly back where it came from before resummoning it, still invisible, on the other side of the door and looking through its senses.
I think that needs a DC15 history check. In fairness I think I have to stick to my roll above, which would only result in a 12. I do think you could roll it though.
It seems weird to me that your need to make a history check to essentially Google something. In Call of Cthulhu, this would definitely be a 'library use' check, which is itself stupid: you can either use a library or you can't! But, I digress.

There is no real 'history' to these symbols. They detail the stages of a wizard being turned into a gibbering mouther, that is it.
Seruk...
Through your imps eyes you see...
Flickering torchlight created by continual flame spells fills this room. The 15-foot-high vaulted chamber contains the following:
Light. Freestanding iron torch sconces in the four corners of the room have continual flame spells cast upon them.
Furnishings. Empty bookshelves and desks line the walls. Against the south wall stands a long banquet table bearing fresh foodstuffs on copper platters and copper flagons filled to the brim with wine. A portrait of a smiling Halaster hangs above the table.
A single person sits in the center of the chamber, on a comfortable-looking couch. Sevral platters of food stuff, as well as a couple different mugs filled with liquid, seem to float around her. The floating items seem to get agitated as the imp appears, seemingly able to sense the imp's appearance.
Rurik...
Holding your whisper jar you ask it for inofmration on the pictures around the hall. After a moment you hear, in a breathless, somewhat hysterical, woman's voice.
"It changed him, I don't know how, and am not staying around to find out, but it changed poor Hank into something... Something that gibbers..."
"Well, the whisper jar not withstanding, what if we're reading backwards? Maybe there's a gibbering mouther in there that read a book and got turned into a wizard. Either way, I suggest we plug up our ears." Digging in his bag for a moment, Trin produces some sealing wax and pops it snugly into each ear, before offering some more wax to the rest of the group and the goblin.
Stigr reaches for the wax, hesitates, then takes a couple pieces, only placing one for now, waiting on the other until they see what's there, just in case someone needs to hear.
After you all, but Stigr, make yourself deaf, someone knocks on the door, though only Stigr can hear the sound of it now.
"What do you want?" A somewhat startled-sounding voice calls back. "Go away, I don't want visitors." The imp would relay that the woman ont he couch is looking towards the door, looking a bit scared and agitated.
(I keep forgetting to ask this, but do you still have the revenant with you?)
“Well, doesn’t this look pleasant. Shall we? Shadowlight, do ya see or smell anything out of the ordinary?”
Rurik begins to walk slowly towards the double door.
(OOC was the double door open or closed?)
Perception 14
"This visage does not bode well." Trin says, wryly.
Double door is closed. Shadowlight lets Rurik know it smells very nice-smelling food, as in actual human dinner food, through the door.
Rurik shares this info. “How would ya like to proceed?” He stops short of the door.
Maximus makes notes as he walks down the corridor. "Anyway to get your imp on the other side of the door without opening it? Otherwise I guess we check it again to see if it is locked or trapped. Then someone gets the honor of opening the door first."

Trin tries to recall any mage lore relevant to the ominous murals.
History(+4)/arcana(+7)? Base roll: 20

Rurik will help Trin by using the whisper jar.

Stigr tells the others what he saw, "Seems strange, certain enough. Shall we knock?"
Rurik also shares but says, “I have no idea what to make of it.”
"Well, the whisper jar not withstanding, what if we're reading backwards? Maybe there's a gibbering mouther in there that read a book and got turned into a wizard. Rurik will take some and do likewise. “Thanks!”
Maximus will also grab some of the wax and cover his ear holes.
Samantha sees Maximus and does the same thing.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

(I totally forgot about him, unless he wandered off, probably?)
Stigr calls through the door, "Sorry miss, we're trying to make an accurate map of the area. Mind if we come in for a moment?"
