(OOG yes, unequip any items you have, except for clothing, and remove all gold)
Belwar - You've been in the prison camp for nine days now, and somewhere along the way you were able to befriend a spider that lives in a crack in the wall of your pen. It's about the size of a tarantula. You wake from a fitful sleep in a cold sweat, shrugging off fading nightmares of oily tentacles reaching out for you from the depths. Your new pet is nearby, offering you some comfort.
Valrish - You were captured ten days ago. While laboring to move rocks from one side of the camp to the other, you found a gold coin in the midst of the rubble, and were able to pocket it without the guards noticing. Eldeth is still sleeping, and Ront is throwing a few glances her way as he wakes up himself, but for now he keeps his distance.
Oorr - Approaching the end of your second tenday in the camp, you are very weary, the weight on your wings being the worst of it. You take a little comfort in the prize you won yesterday. The guards routinely take shots at the prisoners with poisoned hand crossbow bolts (drow poison (injury)). You were able to scavenge one they forgot to pick up when they were done.
Turvy ignores your question, but Topsy shrugs, and says something in a language you don't understand. The odd mushroom creature walks over and releases a few spores into the air that both you and the deep gnome inhale. You hear in your mind the voice of Topsy, "Ah, thanks, Stool! Those spores really do come in handy." The sprout doesn't make a sound, but you get the sense it's happy to be of help. Topsy gives Stool a pat, then turning to you says, "As I was saying, it's the Underdark! Who knows where we are... I think I heard one of Ilvara's goons call it Vel something... Velky...Velkynvelve. What does it matter. It's the pits." You hear another voice that must be Stool break in, "I don't like it here... will you take me home please?"
Valrish notices the aarakocra interacting with the myoconid and the gnomes, but still keeps his gaze on Ront, while he plays with the gold coin he pocketed a couple days ago inside his pocket.
(OOC I don't see much I can do, so this is all. Also, does this update in real time? I'm worried that I'll miss something, so I keep refreshing every ten mins or so... )
Stool makes an odd motion at Oorr. You take it to be a disheartened shrug. Topsy also looks down at her chains, shaking her head. "There are too many guards. Even if we could break the chains, the only way out is the supply lift... or a long fall through all that webbing," she says, giving a little shudder.
The guards begin calling out for the prisoners to wake. As everyone is roused from their troubled sleep, bowls of thin mushroom broth are slid into the pen by a large Quaggoth servant. As it's the only meal they'll serve this day, it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner all in one.
(OOC I have to leave for a bit and will be back on later tonight. I also want to give Ronan a chance to reply. Going well so far!)
Grimnir is sitting in the back of the pen close to Eldeth, observing the rest of the prisoners while keeping an eye on her while she rests. Both dwarf, they naturally got closer in the last days. "I could use a bit of spirit to go with the broth.. I hate them for taking my flasks..." grumble Grimnir. He wakes up Eldeth with a smile and give her her bowl of broth: "Time for your breakfast, my lady"...
(OOG) do you need me to use a specific colour for my character so it stands out ?
(OOG yes, if everyone wants to pick a color for your character speech, that's fine and makes for a colorful read.)
Grimnir - though your flasks are gone, you have managed to scrounge up an iron bar in the two weeks you've been here, that can be used as a club which you keep hidden in the back of the pen. The guards become impatient yelling at everyone to quickly finish their meals as they begin to divide you up for today's tasks. Eldeth smiles at you, thankful for a friend in this dark place.
Ilvara's lieutenant, Shoor, walks near the pen, directing the guards while looking in at the prisoners. "Divide those two up," he says, pointing at the dwarves, "We don't want any of them plotting together now, do we." He points at Belvar, "And be careful of that one... he's acting a bit strange. Nothing a whip crack can't fix, I'd wager."
"Wager!?" Jimjar shouts as he rushes up to the dark elf. "I'll take that bet! I'll bet you 5 days rations, a whip crack won't fix a thing!"
"You won't win this one, gnome," Shoor scowls, "Ilvar's scourge can be," he pauses to rub his back and gives a slight smile, "quite convincing. Put this one with the other gnome and the orc. We'll have them stack rocks. It will be amusing." The other guards laugh, and separate the remaining prisoners into groups.
Group 1: Belwar, Jimjar, Ront. You are marched out and set to stacking odd shaped stones while the guards watch. They knock over the stacks when you're done and make you do it over again. Shoor eggs them on, and continues to threaten you if any of you should refuse.
Group 2: Valrish, Topsy, Eldeth, Stool, Shuushar. Laundry duty. You are given baskets of filthy drow undergarments, and sent to the waterfall to rinse and ring them out. To get there you have to walk across a rope bridge from the main area across the cavern. 3 drow guards and a few quaggoth servants keep watch as you work.
Group 3: Grimnir, Oorr, Sarith, Bupiddo, Derendil. The drow have you carry barrels of water from the waterfall to the lone lift that leads down to the cavern floor where you hand it off to quaggoth servants. You overhear one of them talking about the water being taken to Menzoberranzan, a journey of about 26 days from here at a normal pace. In addition to the servants, 4 drow guards watch you as you work.
When the groups are set, one of the drow guards turns to Shoor, "What about this last one, sir?" as he points to Turvy, the young deep gnome.
"Leave him," Shoor snaps, "The High Priestess has her own plans for him today."
You see Topsy cry out as she reaches for her brother, but the guards grab her and usher her away along with the rest of you. Turvy seems unaware of the situation, continuing his unintelligible muttering as you are marched off to labor for the day.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grimnir is doing his task without grunting too much, not wanting too much attention on himself. While moving barrels of water, he is also looking for possible something to steal that could help open chain locks. He also look at the mechanism of the lift. Is the crank wheel to use the lift on the top or at the bottom ?
Perception roll if needed: 13
Looking at Oorr, he asked “so my friend, how are your wings…. are they wounded or just clipped ? And How did an Aarakocra managed to find himself in the Underdark ?”
Also: In those ten days, approximately how many guards did I count here ? (Grimnir remember 4 high rank draws; Ilvara, Ashara, Shoor and Jorlan)
Oorr answer the Dwarf: " They are just been tied for too long...I need to fly (*sad squawk*). I was tracking down a cult of elemental evil. Seems I have been too reckless. What about you? "
"I am a novice of the monastery of the Ruby Fist, where we follow the precept of Marthammor Duin, god of travellers and expatriates. As part of the test to become a journeyman, novices are sent on the roads to improve their technical skill and to seek experience. I wanted to do different than the others, so I had this idea... You see, the monastery is well renowned for its liquors and spirits. We are fine craftsmen, we made ale for kings ! So I decided to use this time to look for new recipes and rare ingredients from the Underdark to create unique ales and spirits... "
Grimir pauses, "I guess I was a bit too foolish...Just after a few days I have been ambushed by these creatures..."

EDIT: Ah Ah , here's my first FAIL :)
The lift is actually a large woven basket, which is raised and lowered by two quaggoth servants. The crank to do so is at the top of the lift, on the same level as you are. You are not allowed to work the lift, just bring the barrels of water to the servants, at which point they await some sort of signal from below, and then lower the basket. You scan the area, but do not find anything you could improvise to break the chains. A few of the guards do carry keys, for use when they need to switch the prisoners around.
