This was originally the castle priest’s living quarters, and it included many sturdy storage cabinets for vestments and religious paraphernalia. All the cabinets were hacked open and looted long ago.
When you head upstairs you find yourself in a library
Books and manuscripts line wooden shelves constructed from salvaged lumber. One dragonwing and four cultists spend most of their time here, organizing the books. Apparently this room has been sound proofed not to hear all the commotion.
The dragonwing stands up and confronts you "Why are you initiates here? We do need help cataloging these books."
Runvail, Azurre, Fragum:
The bullywugs lead you to an entrance to one of the towers, there must have been a wooden floor in this tower when it was built, to cover the dungeon pit beneath it. Now the floor is gone and the dungeon has been turned into a garbage pit and latrine filled with foul-smelling waste and swamp water to just a few feet below the level of the doorway. The floor above is badly rotted and large portions have collapsed. Through the gaping holes in the second floor, you can see that the third floor is still in good condition. But to reach the stone stairs that circle upward around the outer wall, you must cross 10 feet of indescribable muck.
Something stirs in the muck as the bullywugs quickly hop away.
Wyldfyresmiles at the dragonwing, a look of concern on her face, "we were sent to ensure everything was safe here. There was a revolt a short while ago, but easily quelled. You heard nothing of it then?" Persuasion check: 8

"I knew about the battle but was to busy to participate in quailing their petty feud. Actually we have enough chaos here without having to train new Initiates. You can move on."
You find no other exits on this floor with your passive perception you think maybe the castle was built in segments with access from the ground floor.
Queanys's curiosity gets the better of him and he asks, "It has been forever since I have been to this library. Are there any notable books here that would be important to protect? Perhaps famous literature, or cult documents?"
Queanys nods and says, "We'll leave you in peace then." Turning around he starts heading down the stairs before turning back and asking, "Where exactly is the observatory again? I'm new so I keep getting lost in this place and some direction would be helpful."

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Queanys nods and continues on his way down the stairs. Once he reaches the bottom he peeks around to make sure that there aren't any bullywugs about before slipping out.

Fragum whispers to his companions "Want to regroup? I don't want to mess with whatever's in there, and if we have to it would be easier with the others."
You see all sorts of movement of Bulleywugs and a few Lizardfolk loyal to the cult more than their tribe. If you look to the north you also see the Observatory. But you also remember the elf earlier telling Runvail, Fragum, and Azzure to take Snapjaw which you saw in chains as he passed by to the pit for execution. You see the frog people also piling into the bottom part of the room which led to where Spattergoo's lair was.
You think, so far everyone you meet here will think you're part of the cult until your actions prove otherwise.
Queanys steps out confidently, then, and walks north towards the Observatory. He nods at any lizardfolk, bullywug, or cultists that he passes, but otherwise keeps his mouth shut unless spoken to.

Azurre states "Hardly believable, I think we're supposed to throw him in. Maybe unchain him and say he got away?"
