For fun, I am curious about what character you could make from this art and backstory.
Backstory:
Elwynn had always been a solitary figure, even as a young child. She preferred the company of books and fantastical tales over the hectic world of playgrounds and other kids. Her love for the mystical and unknown translated into a fascination with occult magic and deep, dark mysteries.
Her thirst for knowledge found an outlet in the classic game Dungeons and Dragons, where she found solace in the intricate, fantastical world of the game and eagerly began creating her own characters, developing complex and interwoven backstories for each one. It was as if each new character she made was another piece of herself revealed, a fragment of her soul she never knew existed.
Elwynn was only sixteen when she created her latest character, a half-elf named Eilidh. She was born to a noble Elven father and a human mother who was banished from her village for practising forbidden magic. As a result, Eilidh was raised primarily by her father, who instilled in her a deep love of nature and a connection to the magic that ran deep within her veins; however, life as an outcast was never easy. Eilidh faced discrimination from humans and elves and struggled to find her place in the world, and her darkest moments, her love for her mother's magic and her father's teachings came together in a powerful new way, as Eilidh turned to the gods for guidance and found a new sense of purpose that drove her to leave the safety of her home and venture deep into the world's wildest, most untamed lands.
Through her travels and her dreamlike communions with her God, Eilidh discovered that magic did not have to be feared but instead could be used to help others. Thus, she dedicated herself to helping those who were likewise outcasts and persecuted and found in the practice of magic a means to heal and bring hope to those souls who, through no fault of their own, were cast out, cast down, or had lost their way, and eventually her God blessed Eilidh with three spirit familiars to help her to walk the path.
As Elwynn plunged ever deeper into her character's soul, she felt herself slipping away into Eilidh's world. More and more, as she sat around the table playing the game - or even when she was not - Elwynn would become Eilidh, lost in daydreams, fighting imaginary battles and healing wounded comrades as she moved towards an unknown future that promised to be just as treacherous to Elwyn in reality as it was in her fantasy adventures as Eilidh.
For Elwynn, the game and her character were an escape and an opportunity to explore the deeper, darker parts of herself that she didn't fully understand.
As Eilidh delved ever deeper into her own strange and often terrifying world, Elwynn became more captivated by an ancient power that lay hidden beneath the surface and called to her across the borders of reality, drawing her deeper and deeper into Eilidh'’s world until she eventually became lost in the dream.
Never to wake as Elwynn again.

This is an idea for a campaign all the players a people from this time that were transported here and the only way they can get back to this world is through her since she was from here and has the magic to do it.

Thanks for your reply.
It sounds like you see her more as the antagonist. A dreamer who has trapped the party in some illusion of life. That could be interesting. A lonely teenage girl from the real world who comes upon some form of ancient magic, perhaps by discovering, through her suffering, some Eldrich truth, and then uses her newfound power to trap people into some shared dream - one in which she is no longer lonely, or alone, but has friends and a purpose.
I can relate to this person, understand her, and feel sorry for her.
She is the baddie, and the players must defeat her if they are to return home, but it's almost sad because, in the end, all she wanted was a friend - she just went about it the wrong way, and as someone socially awkward, I can most certainly relate to that.
It certainly puts the way she comforts her dying comrade, while she infuses them with healing energy into perspective.
I won't lie to you - when it is your time; when the Mother calls your name, no power in this world will prevent your soul from returning to where it began; for she who makes and unmakes claims all, in time, but right now, I am here, and your time hath not come. Open your heart and mind to the Great Mother - breathe in her spirit, and rise again.

Though I haven't figured out who The Mother is yet. Who is Eilidh’s God, do you think?
I didn't know who the artist was. I just did an image search for images with a particular style that was free to use and then followed a few “similar image” links. The image was in several locations, posted by people with different usernames.
From your link to the actual artist, though, this image might have come initially from a Kickstarter art pack.
So I don't know if the image is free to use or not, now.
I'll remove the image temporarily until I get a response from the artist about whether or not I can use their art in a non-commercial setting.
I genuinely thought the image was free to use for non-commercial uses because that's what I was filtering by.

oh, i think you're fine using it in a general forums post. you're spreading the word rather than editing (or claiming) it. the art really does have a great vibe!

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

I have not re-added the artwork - this time, linking it directly to a tweet on the artists twitter account, and also providing a link to the same tweet, along with the name of the artist below the image. Next time I will have to do a bit more due diligence than just filtering my image searches.

So, what character can you make from this? I would love to read what you all come up with.
