Hello, welcome. Today I want to show you my preferred way to run a dungeon online. I'm not going to go over how to make one or remaster one or any of that, I'm just going to stick to how to actually execute one when it's show time.
First thing we want to do is set up our tabs correctly. We set our VTT with the player's map to cover roughly 75% of our computer screen, while off to the right we have our documentation in PDF or word doc form taking up about 25%. Now we can monitor the players as they make their way through the dungeon, while glancing over at the documentation to scroll and read through it was they progress.
Meanwhile the players are set to see what the lighting options allow them to see. (Dynamic lighting in Roll20, could be called something different in other VTTs.)
Finally, we have an image (JEPG or PNG) of the DM's map, which is typically black and white and contains annotation for room numbers that we can cross reference with the documentation. Set it to pop up over the VTT when we want to check it, see what room we are looking at next and get an idea of the player's position in the dungeon as a whole before popping back to the VTT.
I've been doing this for a while now and have found that this is the easiest and smoothest way to run a dungeon online, so that you can stay laser focused on running an awesome game. Hopefully this helps, if you have anything to add or a way to do it better please comment, as I'm always looking to sharpen my skills.

My setup is Discord, PDFs, and other materials on left screen; VTT on middle screen, and OBS controls on right screen.
Good way to make use of multiple monitors if you have them. Thanks for sharing.
