I have an NPC that exists in a universe where time is accelerated 10X. I'm having a little problem figuring something out.
Here's the problem,
We have a being in accelerated time, ok, now this being wants to set a trap for someone in normal time, here is the trap setup. The accelerated being places a special holding spell on a seat in a room, ok, now she does this in her own accelerated time, now, a person (the victim) is in normal time and comes into the room and sits down in that seat. Now here's the confusing part, since the spell was placed on the seat in accelerated time, (normally the spell takes 6 minutes to trigger once the person sits down) but the person sitting down is in regular normal time, so does the spell on the seat immediately take effect (no delay because time was accelerated during casting) or is there a 10X delay before the spell triggers? In other words, if something is done in accelerated time, then does it take longer in normal time for the event to happen or does it take longer? Think about it.
I think that it would be for the person in normal time, it would be like slow motion and it would take twice as long for the spell to trigger. Sorta like watching a time lapse film
The question sits with: does the trap exist in the accelerated universe or is it from the normal universe?
The NPC is going to see the "normal" world moving at a slower pace, so their actions will be relatively instantaneous for those in the normal universe.
If the trap is from the accelerated universe then it's activation will be instantaneous upon being dropped into the normal universe. If the trap is from the normal universe then it will activate in normal time, but will be in slow motion for the NPC.
That's the conundrum, I was trying to figure out, if the trap was set in the accelerated universe (not yet tripped) it takes 6 seconds to trip if in the accelerated universe, but in the normal universe, the trap has not been tripped because no one has sat down in the seat yet, would it trip immediately once someone sat down, or would there be a delay. Since the trap has not been tripped by anyone when it was set, it is only tripped after someone sits down. Is the effect of the trap affected by the change in time?
The thing is, either is a completely acceptable result since magic is involved, so it really comes down to which of the two options would serve your story best.

The answer is in bold, the trap is set, it is waiting, and once the person sits down it is tripped. The trap exists in the normal universe after the NPC has set it and walked away, there is no effect from any temporal displacement.
Ok, confusing, how about this scenario, let's say the NPC moving in accelerated time, shoots an arrow at a target in real time, does the arrow hit the target immediately or is it delayed?
Assuming that the NPC is moving so fast they appear to be invisible then the arrow would, to the normal moving person, appear to come out of nowhere.
For the narrative you have two choices: 1) there is a short amount of time that the arrow would appear from nowhere and travel toward the intended target or B) the arrow would appear from nowhere and be embedded in the target.
I would prefer to go with the first option as it gives the players a chance to recognize that something is amiss and potentially prepare for it, where as the second option would feel like you're getting shafted as there's no chance to mitigate what the NPC is doing.
