So, I'm planning this oneshot where my Warlock-Sorcerer (yes, it's mainly for the spell slots don't @ me) leads the party to a temple to get a tome they need for... reasons. Long story short, I need puzzles and traps for this spooky temple. Any ideas?
I would tailor the spells to the character that you are building the temple for.
Maybe there is a room and in the middle of the room is a box that needs a heat spell to open it. There is also a monster in the room that seeks out prey when a heat source is created.
Or do the compete opposite and create a puzzle that must be solved without magic or the trap will be triggered.
I have done traps that require certain knowledge of the world to reward those who actually ask or listen when I mention things. It was a rough time where all the characters had to do is remember the name of the mayor of the town they were in that they had met several times but never asked his name.
