I have been DMing a Tomb of Annihilation group for over a year now, and we’re getting very close to finishing that module (it’s awesome BTW).
I’m pretty sure my group is interested in continuing their characters, but I do not want to homebrew what happens next.
What module(s) would you recommend for a group that is at Level 10, has completed Tomb of Annihilation, and wants to continue? It’s ok if the module does not continue the story of Tomb of Annihilation. Heck, extra points for modules that focus on different elements. ToA is VERY heavy in exploration, and later in dungeon crawling, so I’d love something that has more role playing, or perhaps is focused inside of a major city.
I'm currently running Dead in Thay from Tales of the Yawning Portal, which is designed for 9th level characters and should get them up to 11th. There's relatively little overland exploration or travel, but plenty of dungeoneering and potential roleplaying.
The players have to infiltrate a highly compartmentalized mega-dungeon that the Red Wizards of Thay are using for secret experiments and to build an army of monsters. The ultimate goal is to find where Thay's lich overlord and his highest-ranking servants are keeping their phylacteries. The way into the Phylactery Vault isn't clear from the outset, and players need to acquire keys to proceed through the dungeon, so while the players can just try to murder everything in their path, they'll fare better if they try to interact with the dungeon's inhabitants.
Honestly though the Waterdeep adventures seem like they could be a great change of pace. Heck, just reading Dragon Heist makes me think it wouldn’t be hard to adapt that for higher levels, given that it’s a lot more role playing and city living than dungeon crawling and combat.

Thanks!

I’ll definitely take a look at that!
