My group has now completed 2 campaigns (SKT and Avernus) where the PCs have ended up about 13th level. We have also played PotA but got TPK at 5th level, when they first delved into the city of Tyar-Besil. So I have this campaign (PotA) sitting here and am wondering what to do with it. The players are keen to continue using their higher level PCs so I am wondering how to make the most of the content of PotA with higher level PCs. My current thoughts are this:
Background
Word reaches the higher level PCs via factions and contacts, that Red Larch has just been obliterated by a terrible magical explosion. They are asked to go and investigate immediately. They go there and find destruction and information leading them to believe that there is (literally) a ticking time bomb placed in more local settlements which could go off any moment.
The Adventure
The PCs enter Tyar-Besil and have to destroy all four temples in one day. So, no long rest, minimal short rests. I'm even thinking that maybe each short rest the cultists detonate another orb.
Levels
The four temples are for 6th to 9th level. The PCs are 13th.
The Challenge
Is this going to work out as a fun challenge? Will it be too easy or too hard? Anyone tried anything like this?
You will need to scale up the challenge ratings of the encounters a lot. 13th level characters will demolish an adventure intended for 5th to 9th level PCs.

Has anyone run lower level adventures for higher level PCs in 5th Edition?
