I have some of these miniatures minus the biggest ogre looking one...
The one's I have are not even as good as pictured because they are bent over and missing details.
I wanted to try to save some of them and try modifying them. I wanted to try to add/remove features and objects by cutting away or adding on with putty, toothpicks, glue etc...
If anyone cares to suggest any mods I would try to create them on these minis. If they turn out ok I might send a few out.
This is just for fun and if I do any it will take a while as I'm a novice and work very slow...
I was working on a kobold?... Trimmed off a lot of mold lines and the excess lower jaw from the original. Added everything in green (putty). It never had a left arm under the old shield. I will add a left arm and either a new shield or another dagger.
I started working on the mage b/c of Mox_Rhino's suggestion. The kobold's head is way too big for the mage model. I did cut the old face out of the hood and crammed in an extra skull I found. It didn't go in straight and got stuck that way... oh well. I will reposition the arms. I would have to make a new staff but I also found an extra longsword. The figure could just hold the sword in it's left hand and be leaning on it menacingly... any thoughts?
The mage looks cool. You might be able to file down the back of the hood to give it a different angle that might match the face a little better. Maybe just round it down a little in back so it looks like he's tilting his head down to look at something on the floor. His left hand looks like he wants a beer mug.
I thought that was a kobold, but I'm old school when kobolds were dog people, not the new school lizard people. Maybe instead of a whole arm, make him a weapon arm. Like a double axe or a mace so it's not two pointy things he's holding. Or you could make it a partial missing arm. I kind of like the look now, like his arm was mangled in mid-battle. I like the tail. It gives him more of a creature look than human.
I was still slowly working on these and when I finish a few I think I'll quit. Since I started a thread I might as well post what I did so far.
The original goblin was the mini I hated the most so I thought I would see if I could make it into something I liked. Here is what I have so far. I think I will turn him into a halfling rogue.
Also made a staff for my skeletal mage... The staff is made of nails from an air gun, I hope they stay together with that little bit of putty.
Well, I finished one. I think it looks like a halfling rogue now instead of a goblin or whatever it was...
I made hood into helmet, added backpack, fixed sword, removed robotic claw and added hand with keyring, shortened jaw and nose, shortened skirt, added padded leggings, covered toes.
My son asked why I gave him keys instead of thieves tools... I guess I don't know what thieves tools look like and why pick a lock when you can pickpocket the keys?
I am currently painting the kobold mini and it is a disaster so far. Supposedly they are reddish in color and my red skin looks like crap... I feel like throwing it down and stomping on it but I will try to salvage it and post in a couple days.
I was gifted a paint set about a year ago and they say "The Army Painter: Warpaints".
That's the only stuff I've ever used so I can't recommend them one way or another. They are just basic acrylic paints and seem to work well enough for me.
I used the same goblin as I did for the rogue above but gave him a kenku beak. I haven't the slightest how I will make the rest of the body work for that.
I was trying out another kobold but giving him a shorter tail and tried to make it look like he's giving a warcry into the air. I think I may try to make him hold a spear using both hands.
Thanks, I also use the army painter. I would recommend some of the washes like the dark and strong tones to add to your collection. I think the kobold will definitely look better with a shorter tail. I’m excited to see what the kenku will look like. What brand miniatures are you using? Nolzur’s Marvellous Miniatures? Reaper Miniature’s Bones? Great job!
These are miniatures that were given to me by my son. They say Drunk'n Dragon on bottom and were a bulk pack of 25. There were 5 each of 5 different minis.
I don't really like duplicates so that's why I was trying to customize some.
It looks like the same set is on amazon for $27.99
Ok thanks. I recommend Reaper Miniatures: Bones. They have really good quality prints, and have a very large variety of characters and beasts, and some terrain. I have some images below:

I would fix the staff in the mage's hand, reposition the other arm, then take the dog man's head and put it on the mage.
I'd turn the ranger into a monk in a ki strike stance.
I'd rebase the goblin on a larger base, then cut up the dog man body and place those on the goblins base like a dismembered body.

Really impressive work!
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment.

Finally finished another one. I hated painting this one. It didn't turn out how I wanted but I guess I'm happy with it in the end.
One of the before photos is in a post above.
I trimmed a lot of extra plastic away, especially around the lower neck.
The original had a large shield attached directly to the shoulder, I made entire left arm and new shield.
Added tail and made tunic/loincloth cover the tail.
Added fangs, reshaped sword, slightly reshaped horns.
Thanks for looking.
Wow that looks really good! I’m interested, what brand paint did you use?
