My players chose some of their own and they all got minor curses related to the thing they lost and the created object in some way reflects the thing they lost.
All memories were lost of life before the night of the carnival, memories were turned into a book of clear thought, curse is the player thinks they are Elvish Nobility despite any/all evidence otherwise and must challenge anyone who points this out (does not have to be combat, any contest of the player's choice).
Character lost three inches of height, was used for a pole of collapsing, curse is the player now carries a 3inch replica of themselves in their coin pouch. 1d8 chance of trying to pay with the replica where a 3 or 8 produces it instead of coin. 50% chance of success (replica always returns to the pouch by the next time it's used).
Character lost the ability to sleep soundly, used to create a rod of awakening. Curse is the player randomly (DM choice, preferably non-combat) falls asleep and another player must use an action to wake the player up or they sleep for 1d4 minutes.
Character lost the ability to make facial expressions, it was used to make a staff of charming. The curse is that children think the character is always sad and try to comfort the character. The character can convince the children their efforts worked or were not needed by rolling a multiple of 3 or 8 on the d20.
Anyone have any better ideas for lost things in witchlight? some of the provided ones are ok but some are meh.

Lost things also need an item it is turned into, so I'll make sure to include that.
Lost attribute / item
Green thumb / trowel of plant growth
Ability to swim / helm of water breathing
Seeing in color / wand of color spray
Sense of taste / dust deliciousness
Ability to sew, darn, croche, weave, ect. / Gloves of mending or perhaps fabricate
Ability to see your reflection / necklace of mirror image
Ability to lift anything metal (direct contact not needed) / immoveable rod
Aim (fail anything requiring an attack roll) / glasses of true strike (bonus action 2/day?)
Ability to ride animals / saddle of the cavalier
Ability to dance / dramus' dancing shoes (can be used as bard focus and give advantage on dnace based performance rolls)
Flight (flying race such as Aarakocra or Fairy) / broom of flying
Ability to dream (I'd say sleep but the mechanical consequences would kill a character) / scroll (or astrolabe) of dream
