I've adapted a system at home based on Luke Harts inspiration points. He calls them luck points I believe. Instead of one inspiration point they hold, they get x luck points. They use these after the roll but before the result. I can't seem to find a way to make this tho. Could just make a generic item, add and remove from their inventory. Any suggestions?

Luke Hart is a man who gives DM advice on Youtube. The long and short is he got tired of giving players inspiration, and them hording it waiting for the perfect time to use which never came. Instead, he gives 1d6 "luck points" for good roleplaying. The player can exchange these points to increase a die roll, much like bardic inspiration. Only catch is you know the number, and add it to a pool instead of keeping a d6 for later. Alternatively, you can exchange TWO at a time to lower a dice roll before knowing the outcome. Even the dm's
I just give my players one inspiration per session, for use only during that session. And we use Beyond for both on- and offline play, so it's easy to keep track of.
Maybe this can be accommodated by homebrewing a feat using "lucky" as a basis. Set it to not renew after long rests and they lose the feat the when the points are used up. I dunno about the specific "points" as opposed to "rolls" which is how luck is usually handled. Seems either to check off dice than deal with another points pool.

Could you explain what a Luke Harts Inspiration Points is? I'd like to know some more before offering suggestions

Honestly, I do something similar and just have my players keep track of how many points they have in the Notes section of their character sheets.
Could just put a custom label on an arrow.

Could always add a custom item, and or just use the Electrum coin slot since nobody uses those.
Personally; I do really like this system as it lets players actually use their points instead of clutching one precious one for clinch moments.
