One of my characters needs to be nerfed ( due to my own mistake) so I wanted to create a magic item but I can't think of anything that's better than the bloodaxes ability to give 10 bonus hp on a kill. Does anyone have suggestions?
Give it a progressive power gain that is consumed on use. Similar to the character powers that are able to be used once per short/long rest.
The axe thirsts for blood and the player needs to keep track of how much damage it's dealt. Once per long rest they can burn 50 of these points for automatic advantage on their next attack. Stuff like that.

Make that "bonus" hp temporary hp instead. That way it can't stack or get higher than 10.
